How do you get a twisted trunk like this? Are they wired and twisted as a young three or carved somehow or is the trunk swollen after the wire has started to dig in?
Some pines are left with the wire on forever. I don't know about juniper like that because of how the veining works. Junipers aren't exactly true trees they grow in weird lobes, which is where live and dead veins come from. I suspect that suckers, or low growing branches were used on purpose to reintegrate living tissue up the tree. And then twist it on purpose too.
Some juniperes are created by busing little cuttings together other just by twisting and growing one single plant. Creating shari years after years the vein start twisting around deadwood

The tree was 90% wired sometime if i wire a branche and positioning i feel the smaller ones connected are ok i don t wire them
