Ok this video is kind of old but I never posted it on my own account, that's it. Peace and thanks for the comments ! PS : New beat making video is comming soon !
little did I know 4 years ago when I first saw this video that, This style of production is what I would want to do. You got everything I want and you know how to play it, electronic keyboards and hallow body guitars are some of the most dreamy sounding instruments. I feel like this style of music is a mature style that im honored to be moved by.
With all the new beat making/music production gear/videos that has been developed since this video came out in 06??, I still have to come back and watch. TH-cam beat making Classic!!
Back in the day when we had to sample everything and do it all ourselves in our own built studio's brilliant to watch brought back good memories 👍❤️❤️❤️
Old but gold! Still :) It’s been more than 10 years since I’ve first seen this video, and I just stumbled upon it again for whatever reason. @20Syl you rock man!
Wow, this is some valuable history of an amazing artist. Its just mesmerizing to see what you have achieved for the last 2 decades. And yeah thankyou for all your music,20syl.
Awesome that you put this up (12 years ago now haha!). I remember finding the version called "French producer making a beat" or something like that around 2006 or maybe 2005. It was very insightful and informative of the process. There was not much like it on TH-cam. Or the internet in general for that matter! It was so influential to me that out of the blue I just remembered this video today and started searching for it... without any luck. But as I immigrated to Europe in 2007, and fell under the spell of a band called Hocus Pocus, I somehow knew who to look for. It had to be you! TLDR: Thank you for your work, your art!
This video MADE me want to be a producer. I was a young piano player, and already into music making software, but this video just did it for me. Nice to see that you're still making music :).
I have to say you are incredibly talented, your whole mix between sampling & live instruments is just fucking amazing dude, hands down one of the most versatile producers I've come across on TH-cam period, my home studio is almost finished I can't wait to showcase my skills
20Syl tu es vraiment fort..Un gros big up pour ton taff et à Hocus Pocus que je suis depuis longtemps . Un moment fort que tu nous as fait avoir à Genève au Palladium même après Oxmo !! ;)
VERY NICE....AND I DIDNT EVEN REALLY CARE TOO MUCH ABOUT THE BEAT...CUZ THE WHOLE "FAR AWAY" KINDA WENT A LITTLE OVERBOARD BUT I REALLY ENJOYED WATCHING YOU WORK AND HOW YOU COMBINED THE DIGITAL AND LIVE INSTRUMENTS TOGETHER AND ADDED THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS INTO ONE MIX....THATS WHAT I ENJOYED THE MOST ABOUT THIS....
Still loving this after years and years. This dude right here is one of my few Guru’s. @20syl what organ plugin is that you are using on the midi keys?
Dope beat! Man I remember when I first got my Mpc I saw this dvd with scratching on it in musicians friend or prosound! I copped it I was amazed how you made a beat before I learned my Mpc!
@sneakitout If you have the EB16 fx card you can do that with the filter that comes with it. If he doesn't have the fx, he may be using the velocity to control the standard low-pass filter.
@onzen11 i would've said stop after the drums, sample, and bass bcuz its so tight not to mess with it, but everything he keeps adding takes it to even another level.
@KLARENZ87 I guess you don't know a lot of things about 20Syl, the guy started his own band in 1995 (HP), created one of the most successful DJ group ever (C2C) and has been working in Hip Hop for years. the reason he has all those things is because he worked for it.
Years later I still refer to this for inspiration! This is so damn DOPE!!
who's also watching this in 2023? timeless beatmaking piece🔥🔥🔥

@sneakitout If you have the EB16 fx card you can do that with the filter that comes with it. If he doesn't have the fx, he may be using the velocity to control the standard low-pass filter.
Life is funny. Why is some of the most talented people underrated?
la ligne de basse est tres mechante, felicitations pour l'inspiration.

@cupphouse 3H of hard working exactly
I watched many making videos with MPC but this is the best.
@onzen11 i would've said stop after the drums, sample, and bass bcuz its so tight not to mess with it, but everything he keeps adding takes it to even another level.

@KLARENZ87
