Although, C2C place individual samples onto vinyl. they are not actual records. So while the set is totally awesome, it's not technically difficult compared to some. For truly inbeatable skills check out Tony Vegas DMC 1999.
The most endearing thing about C2C is how musical their arranging is. 95% of the DJs/groups that contend for the DMC somehow forgot that the final product should be good music, and not just self indulgent masturbation at 300 bpm.
You're right, the best tablists combine technicality with musical proficiency. Like you said, many tablists get too technical showing off their skill and it gets to a point where it's only impressive to other tablists - but noise to an outsider.
You are absolutely right, I've always felt the same way. I am also convinced that bands like C2C manage to be both technically and musically very pleasant to listen to.
To all those clearly deaf or tinnitus sufferers who dislike this do you understand how much skill, talent, and timing goes into just thinking up something like this let alone performing it in your studio, and then to do it live in comp? No? Well try it and see how far you get. Just awesome.
tetra is a album that gets better every time you listen to it! ... just made a 500 km trip and trough spoty I had to have listened to it ... maybe 4 times in a row .. love every song !!!
Flawless. Dope as fuck.. Man I've been following the DMC battles since they started & this team is jus really rediculious. Totally different styles from others in the past & that's what separates them. Just really dope.. Really enjoyable to watch & listen to. Keep it up !!
All they have to do is perform it once correctly and constantly play back the recording or studio produced version dozens of times per person when they aren't together in order to improve for the time when they are together.
These guys are such amazing performers!!! Everything flows so smoothly for them! I saw them in San Francisco last night and they were so incredibly talented and interactive with the crowd. I love C2C!
Awesome, first turned on by " down the road " then started listening/viewing others, love it. Would love to see them live. Love the mix of the blues, yeah baby...
Absolutelly amazing! I´ve been listening to C2C since 2016. Just found out the existence of this masterpiece video. As a brazilian myself, this performance really touched me
I think people don't realise how fuckin awesome this is. Each guy got an instrument, vocal or sound and they mix in togheter. Perfect Sync and sounds great! Keep it up guys.
I debated my ma for years that DJ'ing takes instrumental technique and compositional skill. This track won her over (a sick set is worth a million words)
Electro-Swing is the next big thing. There won't be anymore new genres, but now comes the age of fusion. Acoustic and electronic music go hand in hand, and this will be the next musical evolution.
This performance is so good it hurts. I thought it was all on the centry dub plate but I watched another vid of this set where they don't get it quite right and it really shows how good this set was. I love the Drop at 3'15", fuckin fabulous. R-r-r-espec' !
I remember the awe I felt when I first saw this clip. And still, it the technique, style and musically it's so outstanding. Their album is really good too. Thanks you random YT commenter!
swing became well established in the late 40s, coincidentally along the same time the word hipster was coined. not really sure which came first, just pointing out some trivia that contradicting your funny comment.
Man when I first saw these dudes' sets back in the day, I was pissed off they got custom vinyl pressed cause switching records used to be such a big part of the DMC that it really felt like cheating but yeah that is some MAD PREPARATION. Plus in hindsight, they were just way ahead of the curve since now it's all time coded vinyl so changing records is dead and you can use 500 cue points and shit. I do miss having to change records being part of the challenge, but people can do way cooler shit now so I dunno.... that's progress I guess 😛
TheLittleBigL I think Pony is sampled from the song played by C2C (dunno the name though), this video was shot on 2005 so years before Pony came out...
*I love how the video quality is 144p while the audio sounds 8K!*

Except there's 0 real bass... unfortunately

I’m a huge fan! Saw them live in Munich in 2012
oh boy... anyone who is a real DJ would know how ridiculously hard this is to accomplish in such a clean way. Absolutely fantastic!!
i am and very true, the ppl that gave this a thumbs down dont even know
agree :D

@@Mika-qb5mb I am sorry Mika. I cannot read the French language... But you do have some good DJ's :)
Wow. The amount of coordination it must take for 4 guys to do that while completely in sync!

I enjoy shredding the drums. The audience however, at the peak of some ballade, does not.

The fact that this was posted 18 years ago is insane. I won't even talk about the great sound quality
This become such a classic over the years. Never gets old.
As we all do
SHIIIITTT I haven't watched these in YEARS. Love you y'all.
For me 1:57 - 4:00 is potentially the best sound of all time.
Still watching this in december 2021, it's such an amazing and musical set.
I honestly don't think it can ever be beaten.
Bro, it's Octobre 2024 and I am watching it right now :)
Hope you are fine and still enjoying good music... Peace.
TH-cam has really stepped up their recommendation algorithm. This is Fire. 2020 anyone?
2020 but been here since the day it came out. soooo heatedddd 🕺
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Absolutely , that’s what are the DJs supposed to be
Omg I love that track since I was 8years old
=) 2020 ends with all of the civ xD =)
C2C is on point with their talents. I am very impressed with their performance. A new force in music.
New? Dude this set took place in 2005 :p
Maurice Duncan Happens. Great
like a time machine! I am back in 2024 to see the pure excellence of C2C!!
13 years later, C2C still dropped the cleanest DMC team set... 😱 #HocusPocus #BeatTorrent #SoulSquare #KIFrecords #OnAndOnRecords

They must have practiced this thousands of times. It’s so clean.
All they have to do is perform it once correctly and constantly play back the recording or studio produced version dozens of times per person when they aren't together in order to improve for the time when they are together.

This is so good, I can remember this even years from when I first saw this. This is epic. Besides the scratching, the songs are excelent as well.
This absolutely blows my mind! Never has a 240p youtube video being so epic!
it's not about the quality but the content within it
The 9.000.000 views are actually 90.000 people that watched this 100 times ;]
can confirm, this is my 101st time watching this video
On my first watch, can confirm that I will watch again, and again 😄

indeed
For sure not the last and first time watching this. Still counting
heard this a billion times and still the best,,,, full stop!
One of the best DMC performances of all time...
So clean! Still love this 15 years later
Yeah man. Its so damn clean. Anyone who scratched himself, knows how freaking hard this set is.
Me too

Seeing this video is one of ...if not the nicest DJ experiences one could ask for. Ever.
Their timing is unreal.... I dont think it gets any tighter that this. So impressive
Man! TH-cam is on a menory lane! This was so inspirational back in 2005 🙌🏻 The Numark is strong in this one 😅

Lol I do that shit with tracks I like all the time.
Can anyone share the tracklist of this set, pls ?
On n’imagine pas les heures de travail sur ce set, bravo le C2C #2021

Nah, Thats been here for years, things like flume is the new genre. (in EDM atm)
This was done in 2005 and there has barely been an increase in electro swing, why would you assume that?
+Kirosamu yeah flume is amazing, so are san holo, 20syl and Pham
+Lit 20syl is a member of c2c BTW
+Jeremy Andersen thanks
Wouldn't this be a fantastic alternative to get taught in elementary school, instead of playing the recorder? 😆
They were so on point it's like they actually get along with each other
wait don't they get along ?
Beat Juggling between 2 mixers alone puts this at legendary status. Nuts!!!!
I play several "traditional" instruments as well as dj and I feel that manipulating a turntable like one of these guys takes just as much talent.

Well there are also those who pretend to be a real DJ while they just plug in their iPhone and let a playlist run

omg these guys are genius 👍😀
Oh so they are real DJs and not hipsters with an iPad.
legba eshu lol we at least provided some of the swing music right? Back before hipsters existed
Tyler Canich
forget the word hipsters please, it's lame
Enzo Puppyboy The word hipster predates swing music if I'm not mistaken

swing became well established in the late 40s, coincidentally along the same time the word hipster was coined. not really sure which came first, just pointing out some trivia that contradicting your funny comment.
Comment c'est vieux ça !
Ça fait plaisir de réécouter leur passage :)
Earlier 2000’s was peak turntablism. The turntable was mastered as an analog instrument after a couple decades of DJs perfecting the craft.
Almost 10 years... But it still fucking good!
15 years, when you realize time flash so quick, that i just realize when i see this lmao
2024 anyone ?
Yes Sir 🎉
