You guys Chateau is beautiful I'm looking forward to watching your renovations. So happy to see Dick lending his knowledge & experience in Chateau renovation, Dick is a very cleaver man the work he's done on his own Chateau is nothing short of incredulous & Angel's interior design Gorgeous . Yep because we have thousands of them, literally. There are too many for us to fund. There are also plenty of Dutch, Germans, Belgians etc doing the same thing. It's all good if they can carry on the heritage... in the end we will still lose some but that is part of the cycle.
I wonder where all these young couples get the money from to do up all these chateau's. It must cost a fortune. I know they're DIY'ing a lot of the work but they're not making any money while renovating. Probably inheritance and/or trust funds.
The Truth no I think you are....they get grants and loans from banks, it’s what they call, right having good credit! And no they’re not trust funded people, they’re hardworking and actually want something meaningful in their lives and God has blessed them along the way! So stop being a salty bitter person and get off your arse and actually do something worthwhile! No matter how they manage, they’re living the life they dreamt about in a castle....what kind of life are you living🤔
Fiona O'Keefe God blessed them? So there are children dying of disease and plague and your god is helping people buy mansions? How do you know that anything the bible says is the truth?
I wonder why the French aren't protecting their historic land and buildings much more, everyone from outside seems to be buying in on a cheap. Bit more protectionism I would say.
There are at least 45 thousand Chateaux in France, so it seems obvious that the government is not able to look after all of them, due to funding, the management it would require... it simply isn't the role of the state to take care of every single Chateau. They maintain the most important ones (like Versailles, Chenonceau, Fontainebleau...) and as a French person, I am very grateful for that much :) Also, as pretty as the Chateaux are in this show, they are of little historic significance therefore of little interest to the French State ! While I find it unfortunate that French people don't rise up to the task of taking care of our beautiful heritage, I am happy foreigners do so in our place :D
@@DavidJohnson-dc8lu that's wildly under the number. You have to consider what qualifies as a castle. France truly has thousands and thousands of buildings with at least one tower that used to belong to fortifications. Some of it is due to Franco-British wars actually. Apart from having abolished aristocracy, there is the fact that there is a limit to how much heritage a country can sponsor (we don't have a National Trust).
