that’s very cool; I would love to meet him…I did meet Mick Taylor at the small club he was playing in Philly; I complimented his first solo album and he said “So you’re the one that bought it”
@@franktaconelli9095 Nope I bought it too lol ( admittedly 2nd hand ) And loving the track Alabama I named my daughter ( middle name ) after the track. Well that and as a tribute to Alabama in True Romance. At the time it was the toughest role ever played by a woman in a Hollywood movie. And what a cast. Walken, Hopper and Oldman to name a few. Come to think of it I saw Mick Taylor in Newcastle ( Australia ) around 1990 - I wonder if it was the same your. Thanks for the memory blast. I'm sure you've seen Mick Taylor playing with Stones on their 50th anniversary tour I think. He actually stalks Jagger on stage. Very funny. Keith and Ron didn't know what to do lol

I’d love to hear them do more Hank like Honky Tonk Blues or Cold Cold Heart or So Lonesome I Could Cry. Keith does country well thanks to Gram Parsons and lots of other country musicians he met early on when they first toured the US.
I've never seen this before. This is fantastic. It is very nice to see Richards give acknowledgement and respect to Jerry Lee. That tells me that Richards understands truly how wonderfull Jerry Lee's contribution to rock, country, and gospel music has been. There will never be another Jerry Lee, and the Killer is fortunately still with us.
Yeah, where the fuck has this been? With total Stones saturation, I thought I'd seen every clip, photo, interview, history, etc, most multiple times. Every story, too, ad naseum. Keith's book was fantastic, funny, but I don't recall him mentioning this. This here folks, is the real deal.
Yup thanks to the lessons his pal Gram Parsons gave him. Changed his guitar style big time all that jamming with Gram. He was another that went to soon.
@@johngore7744 Way before Gram and the whole 'Wild Horses' connection, ya got 1/2 the cuts on Beggars Banquet, and a few on Let it Bleed that wouldn't be out of place on a country jukebox, my friend. I hear you, though!
@@carlsaganlives6086 I suppose Honest I Do from England’s Newest Hit Makers (1964) was kinda country. I should know these things I’ve only been a fan since 1967 lol
I see Jerry Lee's hands as he plays his old songs almost as good as ever. And I recognize his arthritis. His fingers don't bend anymore. I know the pain involved. I'm so happy I can still visit "The Master" on TH-cam whenever I need some inspiration.
Because he’s one of only a handful of guitarists who know that “the Rock is easy, the Roll is hard,” to quote him. Notwithstanding his fantastic lead on this track, with Keith and the Stones and the best r’n’r generally it’s all about the rhythm section. The Riff Master, as they say.
Underrated is the most overrated word on TH-cam. It's used by every twit around the globe who thinks they know something that nobody else knows. Honestly, what sort of idiot would ever describe Keith Richards as underrated?
Assim. Te informar.
When you have Jerry Lee Lewis, Keith Richards, and Mick Fleetwood together, it's amazing any of them were still alive at that point. I never thought I'd see the day Keef looked better than Mick Fleetwood.
Jerry Lee was my first concert. I was 9 yrs old and I was hooked. Thanks to Bernadine and Larry for taking me. Thank you for posting this awesome video. I'm still hooked.
I just wanted to say how much i appreciate all the comments (and views) on this. When I first received it I thought it was such an upgrade over what I had before. While there are many guitarists one could say is technically better that Keef, he certainly earned the "riff master" title! From the time I picked up an electric I wanted to be Keith! And with all due respect to the great Chuck Berry himself, Keith is one of those cats where the student surpassed the master!!
nice...well okie doke scotty...now go out and develop your own signature style. You might already have it....other wise you'll wind up like all the other 80's shredders!!....I had to do this with my art(I play the axe too, but I am an artist , a painter)
Jerry Lee Lewis and Keith Richards =a combination of unique style and class act performance 🎉🎉. 2 icons playing music 🎶 🎵 and enjoying what they love ❤️ ❤
When I was in my mid Teens circa 1964---thru 1969...I hated Country & @•Western Music...it was so uncool...but now Aged 72...I just love it!! It's also interesting how the Stones&Beatles were so influenced by it....and the likes of Carl Perkins who also influenced them..George Harrison guitar style was very much built on Carl Perkins style.
Keith is so great. Love his gentle ways. Plus, he’s darn funny! Jerry Lee and Mick Fleetwood ain’t too shabby either! ❤️. Meanwhile, I’m stiilll thinking...
Love hearing Keith's licks and rough and ready background vocals on Your Cheating Heart! And of course The Killers piano is stellar thruout as always. RIP to the one and only Jerry Lee Lewis.
In my speech at my wedding to my beloved Su, lost to cancer last year, I quoted from Little Queenie, … “got a lump in ma throat when I saw her walkin’ down th aisle; got the wiggly knees when she looked at me & sweetly smiled”. Likely it went over the heads of most. We certainly had that “fun-filled finale” she ended her self-penned marriage vows with. She will always be my little queenie.😢
Even if you don't like this kind of music, I think you can appreciate the authenticity of the joy these guys exude, especially that bit from about 8:00, on. This is rock and roll. Can anyone really see a tribute like this 30 years from now, where the musicians are singing the praises of a Katy Perry or (fill in your own fleeting act)? Nah. The seminal stuff can't be topped, only built upon. And mostly, not all that well from what I've seen last couple of years.
this is great; love Keith’s vocals; love Jerry Lee’s wink during the intro; Mick Fleetwood such a solid drummer; you know Jerry Lee can afford a boom mic stand but navigating around that straight stand is a classic part of his act; GREAT post
Jerry Lee Lewis once said, If you know something better than Rock N Roll, I'd love to hear it. Pioneer of rock. Keith Richards is cool, always friendly and gracious. Fleetwood? Solid as they get.

Hi ! Last day, we were talking of the best guitarists in the world (for sure, it depends of the different tastes, but in general...) : I was saying that K.Richards was one of them, & a friend told me that "no, he's just the king of the riffs". I've answered that, like we're doing in our small level, we can play better than what we usually play in concerts. In concert, I think that you play 1/4 of what you can really do. and so is K.Richards too.He can play more than riffs, this vid shows us that.
Not everyone knows this, but Keith is a true gentleman. I met him in 2004 in LA at the Gram Parsons tribute. He is a class act.
Read Cosmic Cowboy if you haven't already

Jerry Lee's presence and confidence is what made him. Same can be said of Chuck Berry.
This is Epic. Keith is gorgeous. Jerry Lee is an American Original. Excellent!
It’s a beautiful thing when a rock God can pay tribute to the person who inspired his incredible life
Keith is a country boy! Ive heard him with George Jones also. He falls right into place. Its not a major change for him, What a guy!
