Thankyou for sharing there’s not many videos on the 3rz compared to the v6. I look forward to the results of the new engine

That might be because there is such a large percentage of the engines being the 5VZ 3.4V6. By the time I started making modifications to increase horsepower I was already seeing signs of blow by. I am hopeful for things to feel like they did in 2001 when I first bought the truck. I my came with 26 inch tires and it felt like a beast compared to the 87 22r I had before with 31 inch tires. We shall see how much the 0-60 times increase (check out my other video of before and after header upgrade)

Really stoked about your videos, we have the same year truck in the regular cab configuration. Watching all of your videos currently… I had a question, what is the dial you have attached to your fuel pressure regulator? And where’d you get it. Thanks for documenting all of this, definitely staying in contact.

It’s from LCE performance; they have a kit to put the gauge in line with the fuel rail so you can see your fuel pressure.

How do you like it? How many miles on the build? Anything unique you had them do?

@craigphillips1047 no just stock. It's actually a backup to mate with a w59 I'm rebuilding for my 01 4x4. I've got 300k on it and just adjusted the valves last weekend. The input shaft bearing is getting loud and the syncros are wearing on 5th. Otherwise the truck had the frame replaced by toyota and I wanted a backup drivetrain ready to go when this one fails. Since I've got my bases covered I've been pushing the truck harder and harder and it just keeps running better lol.

That's to say the yota1 3rz isn't even in the truck yet it's for later when current engine fails

@craigphillips1047 trust me, I'll know exactly how hard you can push a high mileage 3rz before I swap it. I'm shifting at like 4500rpm up a mtn 60 miles a day round trip to get to work. I'm actually looking forward more to the teardown of this one when she cuts loose. Otherwise I've spoke to the yota1 guy and hes been featured in a few videos by that toyota time guy and they really seem to know what they're doing.

How many miles are on the engine?

A little over 200K; not near as much as one would expect to get out of it. Hopefully, YOTA1 will give me some feedback on worn parts. I purchased the truck with 15K so I have a good feel for everything this engine has experienced.
