- On this episode we dive deep in our rubbish bin to find scenery material gold for our Slot Car Racing Track.
Follow the step by step DIY tutorial to make your own tyre walls out of packaging foam and cheap rubber tyres from AliExpress.
This tyre walls look realistic and serve the purpose of a protection wall for your track and cars.
They cost close to nothing and are environmentally friendly as we use mostly recycled materials and leftovers from our other projects while we reduse the world production in plastic by avoiding to buy the market equivalent.

Glad you like it!
Fantastic Idea and crafty. Ty for making the Logos available.
Glad you like them!
This is why I subscribed. Very good info and links to products. We are not rich but the wife and I both love our Carrera track and 1/24 cars! Just finished our upstairs. Boxes of track will get unpacked this week and the layout design will start. Thanks again
Things are overpriced and have a plastic toy like look to them, this is why I like to make my own. Also DIY project give a more unique and original look to the track.
Thanks for the sub, hope you enjoy the videos
@@SlotCraftMaster agree with you on the cheesy look as well as the price! Prices seem very high for what they are. I realize the slot car hobby is fairly small but still….
fantastic!
Thank you! Cheers!
Looks great in the end mate
Thanks mate, glad you like it 👍
Amazing job. Looking very good 🎉
Much appreciated
I use garden hose, cut to differing sizes.
Yeah I have seen this before. I think it works very well and it feels good using scrap materials instead of buying new. That's for the visit mate 👍
Such a great idea, love the channel
Big sub from me
Thanks for the good words, much appreciated.
Good idea but you would get better results with extruded foam as it more denser and doesn't leave the small pellets that the cheaper foam does when cutting and shaping..
You are 100% right and this is how I would normally do it but the point of this video was to demonstrate that you don't need to spend a ton of money or have special materials to crate something good. Thinking out of the box can turn rubbish to gold.
Thanks for the comment 👍
What paper was used for the labels and was it an inkjet or laser printed?
I used a laser printer as it produces the best result but you can use inkjet as long as you seal it with multiple layers of varnish.
As for the paper, normal printing paper will do.
Hope this was helpful.
@@SlotCraftMaster thanks
FYI, I tried using standard Laser Print paper and Elemers School Glue and the paper absorbed the moisture from the glue therefore crinkling the images. I then tried 200g paper and was much better but not perfect. I usually use Avery labels to avoid the glue issue but maybe a ModPodge would work better.
You probable using too much glue. If you notice on the video I use a sponge roller to spread and absorb any excess glue. I use this method all the time with regular paper and never had issues.
Also school glue is normally watered down PVA glue so that will give you more moisture. Try PVA glue instead.
