對當時寫詞曲的瓊而言,面對一個自己曾經深愛過又被其拋棄的無情浪子,竟能不知不覺又毫無羞恥心地突然打電話來尋找慰藉,她已可以坦然且冷感回應,也能夠接受對方不著邊際的詩評,但不免有些落寞不甘,甚至不能釋懷舊情,故寫下這首膾炙人口的佳謠....
對我而言,她才是我心中的諾貝爾,不是那個浪子.
歌聲超優美是被上帝親吻了嗎
現代年輕人還知道電話亭嗎? 還真懷念曾經讓人愛不釋手的那一條熱線。

為何Joan要買一些袖扣給對方,而Bob則回贈她什麼? 太有畫面及想像空間了,整首歌字裡行間讓聽眾自由發揮的空間不少,太絕妙了!
@@2Pianos44鑽石與鐵銹是形容雙方對這份感情的認知與態度。對Joan而言，她深愛對方，是發自靈魂深處地愛著Bob，並將這份感情視同鑽石般的寶貴與珍惜。但是對Bob而言，他並不那麽愛Joan，是一種可有可無，隨時可放手的一種膚淺的感情吧，於是也就不那麽珍惜Joan的感情，有如鐵銹一般地不屑一顧。也許兩人交往期間，Bob同時還有其他的女人，這對Joan來說是一種傷害，「癡心被錯負」。總之，「妾有心，郎無意」。一份不對等的感情，註定要分開，而誰在這份感情中投入最多，註定被傷害得也就越重。Joan花了好幾年的時間才漸漸將那份情傷釋懷。

我是不曉得是否技術上可以將Diamond改成複數的Diamonds以還原此歌曲的正確用字。這首歌有太多的空間留給聽眾自己去想像到底是發生了什麼事,把有些空間留給聽眾,而不寫明不唱滿,這種模糊距離之美由聽眾按照自己的人生經歷去體會去編自己的內心故事,是非常高明的做法。
