Your good friend Ralf says there is only magic hocus-pocus involved in dowsing, therefore I don't believe a word he says while he leads viewers completely wrong on gold prospecting. I caught him in many lies in his videos (which I quit watching) and to believe he received $50,000/month on a gold lease I would have to see his lease agreement and tax returns. Without proof, anybody can say anything they want to. It is up to the listener to decipher the truth from lies based on the persona of the story teller. Ralph has GREED stamped across his forehead which he will have to pay for in the afterlife and, Jeff, I suggest you watch your greed too before it's too late with leading to a tortured eternity after death.

Jeff can you tell me..What's a good assayer? In the Southwest here, for Small scale? Google search is worthless! I just want to send in a handful of rocks. I called one down in Tucson, they only do larger assays, and it's in the hundreds of dollars.. that was the only one I could even get a number for around here.. 🙏 thanks!

Something also to consider. Those patented properties are much much better as far as legal, zoning and regulations to build a processing millsite. We can't grind and dump tailings on the BLM lease land...noooo.

The best way I've found to make money by prospecting is to keep it a hobby and buy gold and silver. Gas prices and maintenance on tools, vehicles, claim fees and permits and reoccurring fees each year. It adds up and with all that being said I just buy what I can afford and keep my hobby separate. I still go out and enjoy the great outdoors with Uncle Buck and the boys the gold is just a perk for me.

This Monday I'm looking to do a little prospecting with my sluice box and gold pan at Arapahoe Bar gold park at the river here in Colorado. If I remember this right they where finding gold there long before Colorado has become a state. I have seen a few of your old videos back when of you panning for gold at Carson river in Carson City Nv and in Dayton. I have been at both locations when I lived in Carson City. I'm not sure what part of the river you where at, but it had looked like you where near Brunswick Canyon Rd that is a dirt road above the river. If so that road was once part of the railroad tracks for the mills and for the steam locomotives for V&T railroad. The Virginia City and Truckee was what the V&T means. It played a big roll with the mining in Virginia City when they where pulling a lot of color back when. I have found 2 railroad spikes from that location at the dirt road. I also have found mercury in the river. I take it that was what the miners where using at that time. Did you happen to see a bridge that looks like a train bridge at the Carson river? That is 2 turn tables from the railroad. Not sure whey that was used for, but from my understanding is that it was never used for the railroad at that location. Thank you for all your videos for us all to see and learn. Keep doing what your doing and we all enjoy your knowledge in your videos. Oh, that video about you and your wife finding that gold nugget in the mine was amazing.😊

It's a placer mine which produced a lot of gold in the past so I'm hopeful to find gold there. If you are ever in the area and want a cool place to shoot a video at maybe we can collaborate. Before they initiated a new law out here, I was able to go to one of multiple refineries to sell my precious metals. I'm guessing someone ruined it for all of us and got involved in some criminal mischief locally. Now I'm unable to sell any of my precious metals. I only can if it's poured in a bar, in its purest form and stamped with serial numbers along with presenting a business license including a tax ID. It all changed after January 2024. March 2023. I had no issues. Now I'm like a broke miner.

Hey Jeff, Steve and Reggie caretakers and mine operators at Luxury Gold Mine. One thing we have been toying with is making an area that we make our gold processing equipment available to local prospectors and allow them to bring there ore out to our location and process whatever stage of the ore they have is in. Giving them the opportunity to have access to equipment that normally would be to expensive for your average person. we also considered taking it one step further and building a location in town in a mining oriented area that is populated and set up a shaker table to sort there cons on by either percentages or hourly rate and have it accessed by keycode and 24 hour access. Here in N.Y. its extremely hard to make a passive income.. I been at it over here for ever.. Im still looking and just recently stumbled onto a skarn deposit..
I have to go back when God allows. My 85 year old mom & her 3 tiny dogs moved in and its been hard to do anything. Between doctors appointments & work I have had no time. And the motor in my work just just pooped the bed on me.. Im stuck in the mud.. I feel like something is keeping me from getting into the mountains.. Its like the universe doesn't want me to find something yet.. Life has been challenging lately..

Hey Jeff! I really enjoyed your video. My idea would be to find out about slag from deserted mines, (like silver). Can you tell me which slag is considered valuable? I am fascinated by metallurgy. How about tin, or less valuable metals like lead? I hope my ideas may interest you. I once met an opal miner who had experienced, and was injured in an explosion. He carried with him the biggest, most beautiful opal I have ever seen.

Sounds like a nifty plan but the extent of my 'prospecting' is...scrapping. I'm a small scale metal peddler and I pick it up wherever I go...parking lots, alleys, along the road side, dumpsters etc. Sometimes people just give it to me if they're cleaning out their garage or basement. Being a custodian I find it in the garbage all the time in some form or other...copper, brass, aluminum, stainless and mild steel...it's literally everywhere so I figure, it's not work just picking it up and tossing it into the correct bucket. Some of it I have to tear down but again, not work to me as I've refined my method so well it's more like a meditation...I'm actually thinking about other things when I'm doing it lol. When I sell it to the scrap yard, I can put that money toward gold or silver bullion...why not? I also metal detect...gold and silver do show up once in a while as rings and coins and the remaining 'trash' is scrapped out. If I lived out in Nevada or Arizona etc., I'd probably exclusively detect and gold prospect though. There is small amounts of glacial gold here but I'm not overly interested in sweating over it.

When monetizing a licenss make sure to get a very good laywer who specializes in the mineral exploration and mining industry or you wil be screwed. It is often possible to have your buyer even agree to pay some or all of your legal fees!! Get a lawyer in the country where litigation will be tried, its not alwyas the country where the claim is. Valuing the property is the hardest part so do some serious research in how to arive at a value and how contracts are written in your area. Get some cash upfront, a bunch of stock/options, annual advanced royalty payments, milestone payments as the property continues to be developed and try to hold onto control of your royalties. In my country royalties are often getting capped with buy out options as uncaped royalties can be deal killers. The best thing to do is to look for expiring licenses and grab em and this can take a decade or more. Do what you can to develop it, then monetize/de-risk it.

Hello Jeff, Great vids!! What site do I use to find open available land for mineral entry? You also talked about patented and unpatented. Patented sounds much better, but its sounds unavailable? Is it? And if its claimable , I assume the fee would be 30 times higher? Can anyone with the correct papers( what paper would that be?) just walk onto an unpatented claim and start prospecting right where a miner is working? Can I file for both...Hard Rock and Placer on the same claim? Pros and cons on that? Did some research on Gold Monster 1000 and Gold Bug 2. Is gold monster better for a beginner? Thanks for everything!! I'm motivated to learn thanks to you!

I may be at fault, but I got my family looking at moving west as is (better environment clearer, skies, not as populated) I'm gonna have to keep this in mind, though, getting a passive income sounds nice...I'd probably do it for the scenic vistas...alot of this country goes unnoticed, might aswell appreciate some of it, right? Might also keep a claim for myself, be like that one guy in in Canada who prospects for gold using Radio controlled equipment.
