I've never had spaghetti squash before. What little was left over from the explosion tasted delicious. Thanks for showing me different ways to cook it.

I love to just throw in my crockpot and forget it for a few hours , great comparison tests

Ohhh I didn't think about a crockpot! How do you do that? Just cut it in half and leave it on high 4 hours? Let me know!

I've done it in the microwave and I did put a cover over it. For my little squash, it was 5 min. I just put butter and salt and pepper! It was good.

Thank you for the videos! I have a new PC Air Fryer and need LOTS of help/ideas.
Here's a tip I use when cooking winter squash: Microwave the whole squash 3-5 minutes on high and let it cool enough to touch to make it much easier to cut in half. (That's the hardest part for me. )
Also, I think the microwave version would have been better if it had been covered. I haven't actually done a squash in the microwave, but using a cover and a little water makes a HUGE difference when microwaving a potato.

I think that was the hardest part for me too! That is a great tip!!! :). And anytime you have questions, I’ll do my best to answer them :) I am no expert, but I do have fun!

You don’t need to have an excuse to eat the butter!

For the air frying oven, you need to wrap it up using aluminum foil. That's how you cook the squash with the inside being exposed.

Butter is actually good for you. Not margarine. For those that don't know, think of margarine as being one molecule away from plastic. I like the fact that you actually take a good mouthful to taste. A lot of people on youtube who taste test just take a little taste. How can you get a good taste from a tiny bit of food. Great video. Thanks.

So what? One more oxygen atom to water makes hydrogen peroxide. Should we avoid water too? lol

I just use a little bit of butter spritz. And I just saw it and pepper, but if I'm going to do for example, a pasta sauce on top of it because I want to go Italian, I have some seasonings, bitter or Italian related while I'm cooking it. Gives it an extra kit. If you just wanna use a straight salt, pepper, and other seasonings like cheese, Trader Joe's has some great cheesy. Sprinkle things in one of their seasoning. They just kicked it up a notch. There are so many good so you think you were that you can get that extra flavor nice job

Oh oh! I'd quite forgotten about the Trader Joes Cheese seasoning! I may try that ASAP! :)

I put it the crock pot for 4 hours on high. Do you know why it didn't come stringy. This is my 3rd time. 3rd time it came out squashy. The first 2 times, perfect. Stringy.

I cook them in the microwave regularly and they never take more than 12 minutes so I suspect your microwave may have been set at 20 of 30% power or has other problems.

When I don't add ice, my crust is not what I desire. So I add ice to get my blisters. Or rather I did... now I use the clay bakers/pots like the romertopf.

I wouldn't cook anything in the nuke machine because of the radiation. Not so much in the final product but during the process...absorbing rays can't be good.

@Adventures in Everyday Cooking i drizzle some olive oil over the cut sides and season it with salt and pepper. Then i roast them cut side down at 400 degrees for 45-60 minutes. Sometimes, the skin comes out black, but don't worry. The squash will be cooked perfectly!

Oh yes you are soooo right, I baked mine in the oven open faced upwards, with olive oil or butter, a touch of salt/p[epper & garlic powder. I only use a tiny bit of water in a semi deep pan, then I covered it very lightly with foil, they came out perfect after about 40 minutes on 375 to 400.

@@traceystanphill725 I baked them in my oven open faced upwards, next time I'll try it faced down, then it won't need to be foil covered.

I really really do! I’ll give you guys a peek of them some time. Their names are Jackson and Prince (we did not name them, but they sure sing loud like them) LOL. Also, the corned beef was that recipe in the air fryer you were asking about ;) LOL

I cook mine in the microwave at 12 minutes before sauteing. We make 3 1inch slits on the top before putting it in the microwave. Works like a charm!

@@AdventuresinEverydayCookingI’ve seen it done without the water in a dish, I think that’s why it wouldn’t cook right…just put it whole with 3 large vent holes so it doesn’t explode in the microwave 😅
