I have a 2023 392 that is on 35's, its my Rock crawler/Overlander and am interested in the Portals but don't plan on running anything bigger than 37/38's and a 3" lift. Your kit seems great if you want to run 40's but for anything smaller its just going to look funny. I am sure there were constraints with the portal footprint to fit everything inside which dictated the amount of lift. Any chance you would offer a smaller portal in the future?
The fact that 4.1s are enough to run 40" tires? You got my attention. That's extra money that can go towards the portals! Ok, so the portals alone run around 20grand, will probably have to get fender extenders, and then instalation, fluids, specially trained techs to align... I have a '21 Mojave, what would I expect out the door?
20K for portals, you can price out inner liners but let’s say maybe a grand for front and rear. We give you everything down the the fluid with the kit. No special tools needed to install. You can do it yourself if you want. You will still have to buy wheels and tires. Method bead grips are the best bang for the buck IMO. Tires aren’t cheap…350-600 a tire maybe.
Have you seen the winches made by Red Winch? They look and perform great. Made in England and come in 12v or 24v. So much faster than the typical Warn winch.
I have not. I just run Warn on everything because I’ve always had good luck and the guys at Warn are friends. Nothing against other companies, I just stick with what I know.
Thanks for the video Quinn! I'm the guy who's been emailing you the death regarding the 60/80 combo. If I want to achieve 4.88 with 40 inch tires, pinion gear set do I need to start with? Is that even possible with Dana 44 and up? Looking forward t part 2
Not easily…but a 4.10 and a portal is a 5.0 final drive which I think is perfect. I’m at 2200rpm on the freeway and it has a ton of get up out of the hole w the 392
@@74weld As you know, I'm looking to do this with 392 Final Edition which I believe comes with 4.57 from the factory. This will put me at 5.5 correct? Not sure if I want to go that high. I have another question regarding your custom axle housing. Is this a one-off or something you can offer to your customers? Like you, I don't want my wheels to stick out too much. I am aiming to get this as narrow as possible with 40s.
@@asong26 yes we currently have packages with Dynatrac and Currie. Casey and I are working on something new that I’m pretty excited for but it’s several months out.
You aren’t wrong. It will add more stress on the ball joints. If it’s a concern (I would say it is) I’d recommend the Dynatrac ProSteer ball joints. As for the housing…aftermarket are definitely better if you wheel hard
When you put your portals on a factory 392, do you lose cruise control?

How big is the gap between the top of tire and fender ?

@@74weld Sounds exciting. Several months is fine. My 392 final edition doesn't even hae a build date set yet..
Front housing strength (lack of it) has to be worse with portals. Is strengthening the the oem axle required?

I’m curious what those of you who are running 38’s and bigger… curious what your outside to outside measurement is
We will have that number tomorrow
Audio towards the end is AFU
