Good video guys. My security system consists mostly of a pair of night vision goggles, my kimono, and a 357 revolver. *puts ‘Good Bye Horses’ in the tape deck...
I have used #1 and #3. When I was in USAF I made #3 to use during field deployments. I made mine using 7.62x51 blank rounds. They were much louder than a shotgun primer.
I use fishing bite alarms sounds just like your homemade one about $2.00 a piece. Plus it has a light that flashes so I know what direction the intruder is coming. I do a lot of back country camping and I'm in bear country.
Something else is solar lights with motion sensors something I haven't tried a neighbor by us while camping used those and caught Yogi and Booboo running away with his picnic basket, (garbage) that's when I told him he should hang it in a tree.
Have a 5 story warehouse where drunks often try to climb up the fire escape after bars close. Audible alarm would disturb neighbors 15-20 times a year till I get there to reset it. Primer idea is my favorite, but in this day and age, trying to not get sued when they break a leg scrambling away....despite them trespassing on marked private property. Going to try the strobe light idea. Bankline to the counterweights and attach the strobe high enough that they can't rip it down. Thanks for the vid!
You can reduce the weight and cost of the third example by using a practical joke banger. The spring loaded kind that use the plastic caps that you put under objects that go off when lifted.Just put a tube around it and tie the trip wire to the tube. It's loud enough and perfect for a bob or home especially in anti gun countries. Nice tip on the clothes peg!
Surprisingly Radio Shack is still in business as an online store but I don't think they have any brick and mortar stores left anywhere in the country. Sure miss our local store. Can't run out and buy things you need anymore.
*NON-ELECTRIC DEVICE* *Setup a trip-wire to an airhorn & rattrap that will break a glow stick. This homemade device requires, trip-wire, airhorn, rattrap, glow stick & secure everything to a high location (tree, fence post, etc) This is ear-piercing & will identify the breach location, needs NO maintenance, & lasts a very long time.*
@@talisikid1618 *Excellent question. No. This particular setup would not be reusable. Now with that said, a mechanical windup fire alarm could be used on the trip line instead of the airhorn because after it's tripped it can be reset & as for the glow stick, it can be replaced with a manual switch operated solar charged light.* *Technically this is my setup but it's a lot more expensive & I'm just trying to inspire others to take action. Windup fire alarm approx $400+ & solar light is a bit more expensive than glow sticks.* *Awesome question. Thank you.*
If you get a 12-gauge version of the tripwire alarm and then you get a 12 gauge adapter for a different caliber you can pair the two together and have a sub $100 ghost gun with rifled Barrel
I would make sure that the clothespin is secured such that there is no tension on the wires leading to the terminals. I can see this as a possible weak point where the wires are pulled out, opening the circuit to the alarm.
I moved to the country and bought some fairly expensive IR detecting remote alarms and put on my road and within a week they drove me crazy because of all the deer lol. That’s something most folks don’t think about when setting alarms and such.
Mylar ribbon tied to a post and blowing in the wind seems to help keep birds and deer out of my garden. The ribbon may keep deer away from your sensors too.
Add thumb tacks at the contact point. And I've had a set with a board that has its own spot on that board this tells me what area has tripped. Refer to homemade map. Thanks
One of my favorites. Is a battery powered guitar amp. That is to put a pick up on the wire and listen for sound on the amp . Ie crossing / cutting the wire will make you think Mr cash was out there.

One can use an IR strobe as a visual notification with zero noise. You must have NV to see the indication when tripped. It will keep the intruder unaware that you know of their presence.
You can make a simple bang trap that doesn't rely on batteries. .22 blanks through a fender washer struck by the bar on a rat trap. No chance of mistaking that sound. If you want something more potent and law and order is truly gone for good, same rat trap, look up using it with shotgun shells. Nuff said. Strobe idea is good. You should also have a remote version so you can hit them switch remotely. Throw a sonic area denial weapon in and they won't be in fit shape to fight anybody.
I'm thinking maybe a bluetooth or camera motion sensor you can check on your phone. For now you'd have to be close to a router but I would want something like that
For night security, there will be not less than two people working at any given time, probably 2 to 4 hour shifts. One will be inside with pre-set com with outside that has 360 view. There will also be trip wires for light stick or noise or both.
#1 we use $2 120db rape alarms with bank line. We've even rewired the inbuilt light to strobe when triggered. We put them around our campsite for people and animals.
The only problem with the motion sensor strobe light is that most cheap Motion sensors aren't really motion sensors. They're Heat differentials. So when a person or a car, something generating heat, enters the ambient temperature it activates. However this also means that if you can get behind or above it you can put a piece of paper in front of it and it won't go off. Not a real big issue as they shouldn't know it's there until it's too late. Just something to be aware of.
@@MOTOMINING probably, My dad cuts a bucket into thirds and hangs that over the trail cam to protect it from the sun and the rain. You might try that and see if it stops your problem. Also consider putting them on the other side of your plot. It might help prevent the sun from striking the sensor.
I like the strobe idea. I wonder if similar cheap party lasers might work well in concert with that to dazzle an intruder. Not only is it messing up their depth perception and focus but there's a flood of randomized movement in their field of view as well.
how about one of those Christmas out door laser shows. Mix it red and green. Somebody using a laser sight on you would not be able to tell what he is pointing at.
@@shawnr771 That's one more advantage! Even if they weren't using a laser, every illuminated optic on the market is either red or green. With a siren and a strobe, you'd have auditory noise, light-dark noise, movement noise and red-green noise all messing with someone trying to be quiet, maintain their night vision, track movement and settle their reticle on threats.
I'm currently out of my home undergoing medical treatment. Some dirty MOTHER'S SON broke into my home, vandalized my pole building, and is stealing parts from my mowing equipment. Looking for ways to ADJUST their stealing, and vandalism. I like the caltrip idea of the garden hose, and pungee sticks. Definitely want to incapacitate them for at least a month! You can buy solar powered light/alarms that sound and light up to motion. Just like buying a set of motion sensor lights that trip if bad guy comes around.
I got to say one hit from a 12 gauge or even just the sound in your direction is a huge deterrent so I would say the first thing is have firearms and ammunition
Could you do a video on using the strobe outside but powered by a battery and activated by a trip wire similar to what you've shown? I really like the strobe concept but where I want to use it I do not have electrical power to plug it in. I'd also like to link a siren of some sort with it.

You sure your not limited on the length of wire on your DIY close pin alarm? Depending on your power source there is something called voltage drop. Which means at a certain length of wire your source voltage drops below the required amount to run your horn due to the resistance in the wire.
I would not call that super loud. I would have it installed on my carport and it would be just loud enough to wake me and my neighbors! I'll have to learn to turn it off quickly
P.s. waking your neighbors too means there will be multiple people looking from multiple different positions. That will freak out a thief more than a gun!

"Kevlar spider wire" works great. 30lb almost invisible
