Resident Evil is a survival horror video game developed and published by Capcom. Released for the GameCube video game console in 2002, it is a remake of the 1996 PlayStation game Resident Evil, the first installment in the Resident Evil video game series. The story takes place in 1998 near the fictional Midwestern town of Raccoon City where a series of bizarre murders have taken place. The player takes on the role of either Chris Redfield or Jill Valentine, S.T.A.R.S. officers sent in by the city and the R.P.D. to investigate the murders.

Its like this: those who like the old style just play the old version for the 567th time and let those who enjoy actual smooth gameplay have the new version. No need for debate guys
Honestly I don’t think a remake is needed, I’d rather a definitive version for the original Resident Evil, the original game completely uncensored with the coloured FMV’s and added content from all the different ports of the original, and then have that put on most modern consoles and steam. With all the original voice acting kept in. Resident Evil 1 on the GameCube is already a good enough remake as is and more people should get used to the tank controls.
I think Resident Evil 0 would also be more deserving of a remake that game needs a lot of improvements.
Resident Evil 1 Remake could turn out to be the best game in the series with next gen visuals and an ots camera style.

As long as they don't remove anything but add to it including the true ending, and Chris starts with a gun as he's a marksman, I think the game should start outside the mansion, or at the R.P.D.

In this remake timeline, Albert Westgor betraying everyone has also not been establish properly.
So how old earth can you have a Veronica remake or resident evil five remake without establishing who is Chris Redfield and why Chris Redfield and Albert Westgor hate each other in this remake timeline?

The real question is will it be a remake of the PS1 version or the Gamecube cersion cuz its a bit different. Zombies getting up & running around with claws that you have to burn or just straght zombies? That would leave out the graveyard boss too. Not gunna sell my PS4 Origins copy like you said it still exists
I would personally prefer another remake of RE1 1996. They could potentially include the aggressive clawed zombies, maybe in the lab to mix things up a bit later in the game when it gets more difficult I think the standard zombies should be consistent with the RE2 and RE3 remakes

Yeah, remaking a game so soon after the last one is insane. Only 22 years have passed, they should wait at least like 50 years until it is allowed for them to make a second remake. It is the LAW!

Theres no point but i want it & ill buy it day 1. Do you hear yourself? Its over 20 years old, of course theres a point, we want good graphics and good camera angles, this coming from a fan since part 1 on PS1
There’s nothing wrong with want a new version of something I already enjoy? There’s also nothing wrong with liking the current version of the game which I and many people still do!
Not opposed to the remake at all and if it does end up releasing I’ll play it. If the game we currently have is not for you then there’s nothing wrong with that either

RE1 does NOT need another remake. It already has been remade and people need to deal with the fact that it shouldn’t be remade again. It’s perfectly fine with its fixed camera angles and its mechanics. I really do hope whatever i read from the insider is fake
They need to sort the ending so Barry survives if you play as Chris and Rebecca survives if you play as Jill
RE1 Remake is a good game. I can see why people like it. It's incredibly gorgeous for a Gamecube game. Lots of good puzzles.
But it's also clunky, (the number of item slots is absurdly small, you can't combine herbs together as you pick them up when your inventory's full, you have to hold down a button to run instead of walking at the standard snail's pace)
slow, (picking up items, going through doors, or saving the game takes FOREVER)
overly difficult, (harder than the original version for some reason)
badly signposted (a first-time player will constantly complete goals with no idea of what they're meant to do next)
and full of bad voice acting (better voice work than the original game, yes, but still not good either).
There is absolutely NO reason why it would not benefit from a modern remake. I think people actually need to deal with *that* fact.
RE1 over the shoulder remake is necessary to reintroduce Chris into the remake verse before giving us CVX or 5 remakes imo.
It's not a remake it's a remaster there's a difference
