  • Resident Evil 1 Remake NEEDS These Changes! RE1 Remake Thoughts & Discussion
    Resident Evil is a survival horror video game developed and published by Capcom. Released for the GameCube video game console in 2002, it is a remake of the 1996 PlayStation game Resident Evil, the first installment in the Resident Evil video game series. The story takes place in 1998 near the fictional Midwestern town of Raccoon City where a series of bizarre murders have taken place. The player takes on the role of either Chris Redfield or Jill Valentine, S.T.A.R.S. officers sent in by the city and the R.P.D. to investigate the murders.

    Here is some additional content that I would like to see if Capcom were to remake Resident Evil 1 a second time:
    Keep in mind that the Spencer Mansion had 78 researchers plus another 46 security and maintenance personnel and an additional 24 human test subjects all of which were residing in a building with a small number of bedrooms and a single holding cell plus maybe 2 small studies.
    1). Rebuild the game from the ground up but keep 90% of the original Remakes content. Simply switch to the current RE Engine so it visually matches with the current remakes. Take out the old tank controls and fixed camera angles and make it over the shoulder. Recast the voice actors with the currents ones and change the character designs to match the current remakes.
    2). An extended cinematic prologue showing:
    - Alpha team in the S.T.A.R.S. Office being briefed on the pending search and rescue mission of Bravo Team.
    - Following a scene of the team jumping into the chopper and taking off into the darkening skies towards the Arklay Mountains.
    Following a scene showing Alpha team flying over the forest and locating Bravo teams down chopper and landing in a nearby clearing
    - Ending with the original remakes prologue showing the team being attacked and chased by the zombies dog but with a small change, we see the characters scatter and spilt in different directions as the screen fades into darkness and the gates and walls loom up out the darkness as the characters run into the Mansion.
    3). The addition of a Private Train Station set just outside of the Mansion grounds which would connect the Estate to the U.R.C facility as well as other nearby Umbrella facilities. Along with a Service Road visible from certain windows at the front of the Mansion.
    4). Darker interior environments with minimal lighting, much like RE2R. Characters would have flashlights to allow them to see through the ominous darkness of the Mansion where there is little to no lighting.
    5). Additional zombies within the Mansion and Labs, both male and female.
    6). Proper dormitories and other such living quarters, locker-rooms and showers, janitorial, laundry, and other such utility rooms, Mess hall all to support the Mansion's 124 residents. Pool and tennis court in the Courtyard all for a realistic and immersive feel, showing us that people were in fact living and working in this strange building.
    7). Proper Administrative, Surveillance Offices, and Security Checkpoints
    8). Perimeter fencing and or concrete walls surrounding the Mansion Estate and it's neighboring support structures.
    9). Access to the front, sides, and back of the Mansion grounds and the surrounding forest area with optional side-missions for investigation and exploration
    10). Kennels, cages, and holding complexes for the cerberus dogs, the B.O.W. experiments, and human test subjects.
    10). Additional small laboratories located within the Main Mansion and larger, more expansive complexes beneath the Mansion with decontamination chambers.
    12). Interconnected Campaign A, Campaign B Scenarios where one characters choices in one campaign effects the other character in their campaign in either a positive or negative way. Along with a proper canon ending showing: Jill, Chris, Barry and Rebecca escaping the Mansion grounds together.
    13). Splitting the team up so they arrive at the Mansion in different locations at different times... Jill and Wekser would find themselves entering the mansion at the front where they would encounter their first zombie and Kenneth's dead body. While Barry would arrive at an old servants entrance at the side of the Mansion at the same time Chris comes up from the back near the Courtyard residents area.
    14). An extended cinematic Epilogue showing the survivors at the Hospital back in Raccoon City while getting their injuries treated and giving statements regarding their ordeal to fellow law enforcement officials after flying back from the mansion
    15). Separate Ways style DLCs for both Barry and Wekser. Barry is tasked with destroying evidence per Wesker's orders, while Wesker's tend to his plans.
    16). Additional weaponry and ammo types in addition to some badass hand-to-hand combat and self-defense moves when grabbed by enemies in close quarters.
    (i.e.):
    Headbutting and pistol whipping zombies other monsters in the head, drop kicking and jump kicks, neck breakers etc... knocking zombies down and bashing in their head with whatever weapon you've got equipped at the time.
    17). Tie-in items connecting RE1 to RE0 and RE: CVX along with other RE titles such has files and documentation, correspondence and computer data regarding other Umbrella facilities, shady dealings with the foreign governments as well as the U.S. government. Intel on Umbrella's local involvement in Raccoon City such as evidence of corruption within the city government and dirt on public officials. Along with character dialog regarding Rebecca, Richard and Enrico's nightmarish ordeal in the other facility coupled with flashback scenes while they catch Alpha team up on current events

    Absolutely agree that RE7 Madhouse mode was a fantastic way to play the game. It’s also the exclusive way I play the game now as it really feels like I’m barely surviving each encounter. The Marguerite fight always consumes almost all of my resources every time.

    I think making it like the RE8 house of beneviento would lower the games' replayability. Just make it a more evolved RE2 Remake.

    just a built in randomizer and tons of outfits. I'd love that. Or bonus modes. I feel this is an easy slamdunk since remake 1 is such a good game.

      RE2 on the N64 had a randomizer in the game built in, in addition to the option to change the blood color between red, blue, and green. If an N64 game could include these options, then a modern game could as well.

      @@samd2013 yea that's so cool. I never played it but I heard. I know there's mods but to me it's gotta be such a simple thing to make. For a big studio I mean. Like just maybe a enemy and item rando for replayability. I bet many people would love it.

    If they redo RE0, I hope they use Rebecca’s Chemisty degree to have her make homemade sub weapons like grenade types for the different enemies, like in RE3 how the 4 grenades had different uses for the bow’s.

    What i want with this reimagining is more RNG/dynamic elements for replay value,and NO cut enemies at all,infact id love to see even newer types of enemies,limited saves least in harder difficulties,bring bk the whole "item boxes not connected" from the OGs hardest difficulty,and most importantly
    More lore,like give us more time with bravo team members,like how they did with luis in 4R,and speakin of 4R : id LOVE if capcom expanded upon the spencer family the same way they did saddler and salazar families in 4R,and more lore info on the progenitor virus again same way they did for las plagas in 4R

    This is a little extra wishlist for me.. but I hope they use the face model actors to do the live action opening and cast for the remake. If not, I’m fine with them doing a live action cast scene for a teaser or trailer for the game

    what I would like to see in a resident evil zero remake is a enemy type that is a swarming wave of the leeches .it never made sense to me how they didn't try to swarm our characters like they did everywhere else. And to protect yourself from leeches you cover yourself with in A thin layer of salt so that when either single leeches or leach mimics or swarms of leeches hit you it hurts them too. And every time they do it you lose salt so you need to apply more. If a leach swarm hits you once and you have no salt on you you die instantly.

    The main thing is they need to sit with RE2 remake, and replicate as much of that as possible. Aside from dropping the ball on the 2nd run system, that was how you remake the original trilogy games in a modern way.

    I’d really like Chris and Jill to have seperate campaigns where they may go the same areas but have different keys or objectives that way both feel different giving you more replay value.

    RE1 needs to be remade in unreal engine 5 and have a VR mode after like RE8 and RE4. Going through through Spencer mansion in VR is a dream come true ❤
    Heck, I wouldn't even mind if they had it all in first person like RE7 and RE8. Would make for an all new twist on the re re make. Would make it more creepy and scary.

    hey RE1 Remake & Code V yep but RE7 RE8 not a fan Even RE3 kinda sucked because they took all the good bits out RE2 RE4 they done them really well good job I think they will do the other 2 remakes good too now RE9 they say will be a bit like RE7 and RE8 if so won't be buying it hate first person mode hate it sorry guys well thats me 😁

    I prefer the originals cheese one liners I dont mean the over acting if they remade it now they should make it feel more natural
    But bring back the cheese one liners cus in the Remake they changed the Jill sandwich line in a attempt to make it more natural but instead they butchered it by making it sound boring
    They can make the game more serious and still have a cheese one liner like how RE2 Remake had Leon's Chew on that you over grown son of a bitch !!! lol
    RE3 Remake had Jill's Come on you creepy ass stalker you want S.T.A.R.S. I'll give you stars !!!

    Capcom is not remaking RE 1 again. And they aren't remaking Code Veronica. It makes no sense whatsoever to remake these games now. Capcom has been remaking the classic games sequentially, IN ORDER. They started with 2 and then gave us 3 and then 4. The events of RE 1 and Code Veronica take place years before the events of RE 4. So looking at the pattern of remakes, it doesn't make sense for Capcom to go back in time (in the RE lore timeline) and do remakes of RE1 and Code Veronica now. If they were interested in doing another remake of RE 1, they would have started with that rather than RE 2. We would have gotten that first. And they aren't interested in a Code Veronica remake either. If they were, we would have gotten that after the RE 3 remake, instead of the RE 4 remake.
    Stubborn RE fans always laugh at me and try to argue with me. Go ahead. But I promise you, we are NOT getting another remake of RE 1 or a remake of Code Veronica. I promise you.

    A canon ending where they all escape and improved the knife make the defense items better too. That would be a very good improvement on the game and also give a real reason why Wesker hates Chris so much. We need a real reason. There’s not a real reason in the game, why he hates Chris so much it makes no sense, seriously the only real explanation we got was Veronica and I’ve already played and beat the game
