- There are many nomadic and shepherd communities living in the Himalayas. Gaddi community is one of them. Gaddi shepherds live in Himachal and roam around the upper Himalayan mountains with their sheep flocks all through the summer. The lifestyle of Gaddi people resembles with the Bakarwals of Kashmir, and other Gujjar shepherds of Kashmir, Himachal and Uttarakhand. In local dialect Gaddi shepherds are also referred to as the Bakarwals, which means Goat herders.

Bhai m sab jagah cycle se travel karta hu, fir unche pahado me jaha rasta khatm ho jata h waha kisi ganv me cycle park karke janglo ke raste paidal (trekking karke) pahado par chadhta hu jaha aise log milte h, m kisi ek jagah nahi rehta chalta rahta hu, mushkil to hota h par mujhe aise ghumne ka shauk h to acha lagta h
