Thanks, really useful. I have just bought a Trek Domane which I am about to swap out to 105 groupset and hadn't realised it came with this type of BB !
good one, i need to change the cranks to get some lower ratios for mountain road climbs, on both my bikes, 3 x 8 raleigh hybrid with a square taper bb, and my 2 x 11 gravel bike with the hollow tech type bb
Well hello and big up to you guys, always enjoy your work. My question is. If i change my bottom bracket on my mountain bike. Do I have to change the crank also.🇩🇲
Thank you! Unfortunately not even name brands have any shame and still put inferior square taper bottom brackets on their entry level bikes. They are worse, heavier amd waste material. Do you also have a video on BBs woth a lockiring that are relevant to upgrading a steel bike? Also what about spacers, I hear people mention them but never use them...
How about a video on how "downgrading" to a square taper system often provides better reliability, longevity, and user satisfaction than today's systems? Yeah, I know; nobody does that.
Beautifully explained. I'm completing this BB upgrade this weekend. Exactly what I was hoping to find. Subscribed and 👍👍👍

Have to give a thumbs up, such a nicely done illustration!
