First big sail- torn sail, trashed boat, rain storm, broken autopilot but- got a mahi! not a bad first stop too. It was fun reading the comments on this one 1.5 years later.
Ah thank you, we didn't think about that. We stopped putting the date when we caught up to more of real time. Thanks for your feedback, maybe we should start adding the date again!
Great catch now that’s what I’m talking about. I’m proud you we’re able to cross the Devil’s Triangle with little problems you’ll get better as you go keep on sail on and following seas JT 🇺🇸🇺🇸🐟🐠🎣🛥🌴⛱😊😊🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Hey Cassie! Hope you're doing great! So glad you are enjoying these videos. It's a shame GoPro's weren't around when we were younger.... or maybe its better that way haha!
Thanks for watching Brian! We spent a lot of time making this one, so very rewarding to know people are taking the time to watch. We are trying to get caught up to more current footage!
@@SailingOneLife we’ve caught up with y’all’s journey. Now just waiting for the next one to drop. We both love how real and true y’all are. Doesn’t just show the positive side of sailing but everything. We’re definitely learning from you guys.. cheers and keep on living y’all’s dream and not the American Dream!!!
There are definite highs and lows that come along with the sailing nomadic lifestyle. We learn something every day! So happy you found our channel and we look forward to finishing the next episode! Here's to 2021! 🥂🍻
Not any more than any other fish species really. We have not heard of a lot of ciguatera cases in the Bahamas. We just try to follow what the locals eat and won't eat everywhere we go. The hogfish is so delicious, we thought it was worth the relatively small risk! 😃
Hey Russ! Yes insurance is a challenge especially on an older boat like ours. We said screw it but sometimes we need insurance to enter marinas so we do get short term liability only policies occasionally.
I suppose that, by now, you know that they pronounce the word "cay" as "key" down in the Caribbean. Short fact: it comes from the Spanish word "cayo" which literally means "key" but everyone's been referring to these low islands just that way for centuries.
😂! Hi Judman, we really appreciate you watching the earlier part of our journey! We hope you notice a bit of difference between our earlier videos and newer ones, both editing and who we are as people and sailors!
@@SailingOneLife Love your content. The editing and the narration are on point. I know that it is a lot of extra work to put this stuff out but those of us who cannot do what you are doing appreciate it. Thank you for sharing!
I watched couple different videos you have made then went back and looked at these first ones you all made and you both are brave but must have been in the cards for the 2 of you. I just don’t subscribe to channels or like videos I make the content and people work for it. That all being said I will subscribe and hope it all works out for you both. I mean no kids no house payments etc. how long do you think you can go without having to work in life?
Thank you, Herbert! We appreciate you going back and looking at some of our older videos and subscribing to our channel. We are hoping to be able to sustain this lifestyle for as long as it is still fun for us. We have our eyes on crossing the Pacific and sailing to Australia and New Zealand, so at least a couple more years. After that who knows! Thank you for all the positive vibes and well wishes!
Hey, your video seem pretty cool. Might offer a suggestion though? It’s kind of hard to hear everything going on when there’s a lot of music. I love hearing the sounds of the water in the sales and everything. Maybe you could play music in the background or some thing. Just a suggestion. I don’t know if I’m the only one who has this request. No disrespect meant here
Hey Liz! Thank you, we appreciate your feedback. This video was early on in our 'learning how to edit' journey. We are still learning and trying to make better videos each time. Hopefully you will notice a difference in some of our more recent videos!

Dinner guest ! Remind me to decline an offer to be a dinner guest lol
Haha well we don't eat all of our guests! Just the tasty ones. 🤪
I like how you add the month and year to your videos. Good to be able to see what the weather is like at that time of year in these places. :)

Strolling with baby sharks! Coolest thing ever!! Anxiously waiting for more! Love you!

Hey there! Yep, we've learned quite a bit since this video. Thanks for the info.
where was the anchorage you dodged the front?
Ambergris Caye
Good job with the mahi and conch and all that! Did you kill that lobster by boiling it’s head?? Yikes 😄
Also what’s up with your voice?
Hahaha Gary speared it and then we boiled it whole!
Too much voiceover! 😂
hi, what is the name of this song 10:00 ?
Washed Out by Daxten
👍
