  • In today's video, we wanted to give a full tour of Mount Vernon which is George Washington’s Estate located in Virginia. The estate is just outside of Washington DC. You do need tickets and it is a reserved time slot to get in but it is so worth it. The grounds are beautiful. You can see all the trees he planted, the land, the barn, and the Potomac River. Once it is your time to enter the estate, you cannot video but can take as many photos as you like. It is pretty crazy to see the bed he died in and the desk he wrote his will at. It is a very historical landmark! Then you can go and see his and his families burial site as well as the slave memorial burial site. After that, they have an amazing museum that features items owned by Washington, including his famous teeth. It’s the actual dentures that George Washington wore. They do have serval places you can eat at as well as an amazing gift shop. Be sure to plan ahead as you will spend a ton of time at the estate. The tour of the actual house only takes about 20 min but overall, we were at the full historic site for over 3 hours. This is our last video from our Washington DC trip and we hope you enjoyed the videos from that series!
Stay tuned for another video coming soon. Thanks so much for watching! God Bless!!!

I bought a historic wood piece, a vase. The tree that it came from coincidentally happen to fall in a storm on the day my father passed. I also bought one of those reproduction prints. Beautiful picture. I think he could have possibly survived a throat infection. He lost 40 percent of his blood volume with the blood letting they did. You can't survive that without fluid replacement. I think his death had more to do with 18th century medicine. After all he did for this country, it bothers me he died just short of seeing this country into a new century. Very nice video.

Thank you for taking the time to watch this video and for sharing this story. It is sad that he died the way he did. It was pretty fascinating to walk in the same house and to see all the grounds!
