I pwn a Metro. After watching this video I changed my adjustments a bit and obtained an even more wonderful sound. My soundman LOVES the sound I send them. I also play through a Gallen Krugger amp and I was able to back off on some of my settings in very pleasant ways. Thank you Roger for the Metro that I could afford! Every time I play it I get the "big smile".
I have three, a Metroline PJ German Made, MetroExpress Japan Made and an NYC and all are top notch instruments! Roger is the man who makes the best basses around!
The green finish on that bass is wonderful. I have to say, got my first Sadowsky bass a few weeks ago, a German MetroLine VJ4. It is absolutely the easiest bass to adjust, I love it!
Perfectly explained... & the most useable pre amp out there... my Sadowsky always cuts it.... live, studio, whatever... Quite simply, one of the most reliable, user friendly, reasonably priced & loved basses in the world today.
Great vid Roger! Excellent advise on how achieve your own voice on the pre. Over the last 18 years I have tracked with your instruments literally all over the world. Every engineer loves them. I’ve had so many bassists ask me about my recording chain. I tell them straight in flat on the board and will sometimes add just a small amount of lows from your pre. One friend in particular had a difficult time processing that. Told for years, don’t take my word for it get a Sadowsky. He finally did. Well? Straight in flat, sounded great and the engineer loved it. Case closed.
You try a passive bass in the store or at home and it sounds great. But then when you're gigging with a band the bass becomes muddy and fades. Not with this preamp, even just the bass at +20%. Magic!
@@milkovic07 He's Roger Sadowsky, it's his preamp that is used and loved by many, and he can explain it however the fuck he wants to. You're some random YT troll, and neither of us is an Einstein.

Perfect circuit all options are there - usable sounds only! Thanks Mr. Sadowsky.

This bass is perfect!! Adorable!!! I was waiting for a bass solo from Roger at the end!!! Big hug Roger!!😊
Not many folks know, but Roger's main axe is guitar.
Roger is the man!
Excellent video! I'm so glad I found Sadowsky basses 8 years ago. Perfect sound and features. Love it all.
Thank you Sir for your creative creations!!!

Love that the preamp is boost only. Makes it much easier for me (I’m truly “gear illiterate” 😂😂)
Is it better to set the tone control first, and then set the treble and bass boost?
Or vice-versa?
(I think the former.)
Does the Tone Control Work In Active Mode
Hi, yes it does. :)
His explanation for the blend control wiring is one of the stupidest things I have heard in my life
why
It's different just for the sake of being different.
It's a bit odd but he's Roger Sadowsky and you're not.
@@jeffwolinski2659 great argument there einstein
