To clarify, these basses are not chambered, they are just built with Okoume which keeps them lightweight while providing a balanced tonal resonance. Apologies for the confusion.
We've been made aware of some confusion regarding the specs of each bass so we will be correcting the listings and clarifying any miscommunication asap. Please bear with us for the time being as we work to correct this! Thanks for watching! :D
@@l.e.bassdesign what? They literally say it correctly the first time they try at 1:38. Watch a video on Sadowsky's own page how it's pronounced th-cam.com/video/T_SoXyBJz6k/w-d-xo.html
These Metro Express basses come with two different necks: roasted maple or Maduro (aka Pau Ferro). I don't believe Rosewood is an option, at least per Sadowsky's website. They are made in China, but the quality is really good for a lower end Sadowsky. I own the PJ 5 string in Metallic Sage Green with the roasted maple neck. I love my Fenders, but I can put this Sadowsky up against them and run very close in tone and looks. I would be curious to see a Sire and Sadowsky show down video.
Thanks Lee & Cici, cool review & nice basses ! Shoot out definitely please. I'm always curious to hear the Jaco tone on anything Jazz bassed. Good to see you both on here again.
I've been a Sadowsky NYC player for years now, the way they sit in a mix is just insane. I first heard of them from Jason Newsted in the mid 90's and he coined the term at the time "Fender on Steroids" and he was exactly right. Very versatile and we see them played anywhere from Jazz, Country, to Metal music. That mid range punch is where they shine. Roger did a phenomenal job with his preamp. \m/ I have never played or owned a MetroLine series but they are fine instruments as shown here and seems the quality for the line remains even after Roger signed the mfg deal.
The first time I heard about Sadowskys was from Jason Newstead playing then towards his final days in Metallica, they’re such cool basses and sound absolutely awesome as well
I miss my Ibanez RS-24 that had P/J pickups and I really like the MetroExpress basses that I've seen on TH-cam!!!! I may have to get a P/J 5!!! The Sadowsky/Warwick partnership was a genius move!!! Great demos!!!
So I’ve played a top shelf and bottom shelf sire and own a sadowsky 5 fretless JJ. The preamp is more simplistic yet powerful. The gig bag the bass comes with is phenomenal, and honestly I felt more blown away with the sadowsky, I haven’t been this impressed since my Yamaha BB735A. The only thing is it does not have a tone control, but sadowsky makes a video himself on how to replace should you desire it. So far that may be an option in the future but otherwise for what I use it for I couldn’t be happier. It also comes with strap locks which is incredible. For the price and everything you get it’s pretty tough to beat. It’s incredibly potent, versatile and the build quality is clear that this is a winner. As for the sire, the top shelf one the preamp didn’t work very well but it felt pretty good as far as build quality. The bottom V3 was active black on black and was also built quite well, and sounded really good too. The preamp is a little busy for me, but it seems to be powerful as well. I was almost gonna go sire but I wanted an Unlined fretless as that’s how I learned how to play bass and well, sadowsky was the only one that worked or that was not backordered. I took the chance after TH-cam reviews and really am so happy to have it. Seriously couldn’t recommend it enough, sweetwater can show you the most picture wise and you can look on here to see what the gig bag comes with, it’s so clear Roger thinks of the working musician and I can’t wait to buy more.
Why can't Anderton's do even the most basic research on gear they're reviewing. Can't even pronounce it properly, they're not chambered, they've been made in the far east for several years now, they have other lines in between the SMX and custom shop, etc. I had to stop watching because it was so bad.
Lee and Cici DO NOT work for Anderton’s, they’re professional musicians that come into a studio (miles away from the shop) to do these videos. That’s why their product knowledge is limited, compared to someone that works in the store.
These Basses are NOT new. The MetroExpress Line under "control" of Warwick was started already in 2020. The first versions were no success at all and in Germany they were sold for less than 500 Euros since August 2023. Now the line was relaunched with some "upgrades". To be honest, I am a little disappointed. I really like your channel, but this is poor.

I've always loved the idea of a P-bass pickup on a J-bass! Always love Lee and Cici's energy!!

No problem. We appreciate your videos, mistakes or no mistakes!
Why even upload it then? The brand’s name isn’t even pronounced correctly.

These are killer basses, have to say some of the best value for money basses around. Glad you are promoting them. Great stuff.

Man CiCi is so talented. That bass is bigger than she is and she just owns it. She’s very inspiring.

Let's go! Finally new bass content!
You're welcome.
More bass !
Yes! I’m a guitarist and a drummer, but I can never get enough all about the bass!
Great Demo and great playing too🎸👍

I love the opening jam and I love J-shaped PJs.

SWEET jam intro! Great sound. Never heard of that brand. Sounds good tho.
LOVE YOUR BASS SKILLS

I like these. Is the roasted neck worth the additional cost?.
In case you're curious, Roger Sadowsky calls himself "Sad-ow-skee" rather than the more traditional "Sadofski"
the bass pot has a push-pull preamp bypass for straight passive tone as well.
This express Line is so cooooool 👌
These Chinese Metro Express basses are not chambered. The German MetroLine and NYC Custom Shop basses are.
Correct
As in; chambered for an intermediate size?
I am very tempted by one of these after watching this, there aren't many quality PJs available.
what is that number thing changing in the background ?
Decibel meter
Ohhh guys finally 😊
Are they better than the sub £1000 measuring stick that is a Sire tho?

Captain Anderton brings his cell phone on camera. Just. In. Case. 😂😂
You need to get familiar with Kiesel/ Carvin basses.
Great video
Hello hello it’s Queenie
Muito top esse baixo
It looks like a big Strat
I bet Julia is kicking herself in the butt for not being in on this demo
👍👌
Can we please find Cici a better partner?
CiCi!
Not bad
Sorry, I found this Andertons video more about the presenters than the instrument.
just pronounce the brand name with a triple WWW like the dude's name was pronounced by the autobahn guys ... hey, lebowwwski 😂

Petty comment - I sure Andertons will be devastated at your departure 🙄
@eckie4679 You think it's petty to expect product reviews to actually be informative?

I wonder how do you find them impressive, when they have cheap electronics, pickups, built quality, and made in china, for over 1k euros.
Learn the bass Before you make the video 😮

So fender Jazz Bass body shape, fender style tuners, fender style P-J pick ups... 🙄
If you can't beat em, rip em off, I guess.
