After installing the new adjustable front and rear upper control arms for camber, the coupe was so out of alignment that my tires were screeching driving on straight roads! Thankfully my local shop had a spot open and was able to take me in, and I was also able to clean the hell out of the cars interior since it was so dirty. correct me if im wrong but, because the civics on coilovers doesnt that make the wheels naturally camber? maybe why your rears are 9 instead of 5?

That's what I was thinking I have no rear camber kit and -3 in the back just from lowering I think the kit would give -5 at stock height
My EK has a lot of natural camber from me lowering it only in the rear though

You are supposed to do an alignment with the wheels you gonna use on the car.
The settings are different when you put on other wheels.
But its still better then not doing an alignment at all.
Negative 9.7 camber is quite a lot and it will wear your tires way faster then without camber.
What you think is not the case , it does affect how fast you burn trough the tire......more weight on a smaller part means way faster wear.
I have a vw beetle with negative camber on the back and after one season I need new tires if I drive it daily.
I drive it only on sunny days (so maybe 5000 km a year) so I do not care much about that.
Also Ive broken 2 times the homo kinetic within a half year (if you call it that way I dunno cause im from the netherlands) on my golf mk2 when I had camber on the front.
I drove the car before without camber for 3 years and didnt had that problem at all, I took the camber away and didnt have that problem occure again so you gotta do some more maintenance thats all.
Could be me just having some bad luck, I dont know :P
baklap141 actually on golfs camber wears out the axles because if you are slammed and cambered the sliders in the axles bottom out and when suspension compresses you are putting stress on the joint "balls"...my mk1 is the lowest you can be static and after 4k km it's starting to have noise at the front, so I'll get another set of axles to shorten and solve the problem 👍🏻

yeah I know , it was just too low with the camber and lowest setting on the coils.
Now I have another mk2 and isnt that low , also now 16s instead of 15s.
I do not care about being so low anymore , I care more about handling now.
As long as there is no wheel gap it looks good enough for me.
Only my vw beetle is very low , but that doesnt have an exhaust or anything else under the car so it can be a lot lower.
It would be nice to have air but id rather give it a fresh paint and maintain the car then have some bags at the moment.
The paint (its red) is getting very bad so yeh....I want fresh paint 😁

If he needs to swap anything its the trans. That D-series is cheap, easy, and perfect for building a quick little turbo car. I only say that because I've had a couple of those motors pushing 400hp with rods and pistons. If he kept it stock he could still make 200hp safely with injectors and a killer tune. BRING BACK THE SOHC!!!!
MrJackmando123 prob with the Ds is the trans you gotta build them to hold 400+ for long under abuse a B series trans just needs synchros and a LSD to hold more under abuse.Of course you could go D2B?
MrJackmando123 my buddy is upper 500s(D16) and couldn't get a trans to hold until it was fully built.Slicks helped alot but in the end they'd still go.

it doesnt matter if you are doing it yourself if you have to get everything custom made.
253Huhn253 for example if you use the gearbox from a crv and diff+drive shaft from a civic wagon, modify axels, make it modify mounts etc it actually doesn’t have to cost that much.
