Yup, you pretty much pinpointed the difference between scratching musically and scratching aimlessly just to be as technical as possible... Scratching can very well be an instrument, when there is style, funk and flavor...

@J. Dee Nah its just that the turntable channels on the mixer are reversed - in this case with the left turntable, the crossfader is cutting from the left-outwards instead of usually having it move from the right side-inwards (if that makes sense)
