Kirk’s is a good soap, my bar only lasts a week in the shower, though. I just bought a bar of Nablus soap today at a local Middle-Eastern food store, it was only $1.99 there. It was fresher and milder smelling than I expected, quite nice. I like it so far.
Nablus leaves my skin feeling hydrated and smooth. I was skeptical about it but I have bad skin through genetics and after the 1st use I could tell the difference from my Irish spring soap. Leaves no smell behind. Definitely try it. Yes you do have to work it harder.
I 100% promote Kirk's original soap in hard water supply areas. It's cheap at Walmart... like less than $6 for 5 bars. It makes a nice foam and rinses well. You can use for shaving your face in the shower. Nice pine, citrus, floral scent. Glycerin and high taloate soaps don't work in hard, metallic, chlorine water. You can feel the grease left on your skin. I like Dove for men, Lever 2000, Lifebuoy, Safeguard when in a soft water area. For shaving... I adore the tub of Promisso menthol. You need a lather brush.. but dang... a great shave. They have hypoallergenic and vegan soaps too.
I bought Kirk's soap about two weeks ago for the first time. I like it. I was looking for something without being an antibacterial soap so my hands don't dry out so much. Kirk's came up.
I love Kirk's too and I use it all the time. It's probably the best soap you can buy. Few people who use it probably don't really understand it: It's just good old fashioned lye soap made with olive oil and other oils (instead of lard). That's what Castile soap is. If you look at the ingredients it contains "sodium hydroxide." That's "lye" in plain English. I also sometimes do mail order with a little old lady in the Ozarks who makes old fashioned lye soap, using lard as the fat. It's wonderful soap too and just as good as Kirk's, but her prices are almost double Kirk's. I still order a few bars from her each year out of nostalgia. 😃

My last purchase in July was for two packs and it came out to 9 and some change. They last such a long time for three people that use the bar our last one is still going strong.

i bought it because it was the cheapest at savemart in california and omg i still buy the 3 bars for a dollar from the 99 cent store but kirks is 1.60 a bar and its a million times better than any other soap i had ever tried. if i want something nice it has to be kirks over any expensive brand
Actually we’re I live in Toronto Canada the Palistian soap is really cheap 5 dollars a bar I get reallly bad exema in the fall and winter bin using that soap and I have zero exema it’s amazing used prescription creams and nothing worked but changing the soap I used
The Kirk's you show here does have unspecified 'fragrance' added (it's in the ingredients list) which is a big cause of allergic reaction for many people. It's also 100% coconut which is drying for skin but fine for your dishes.
@@johnnyg1933 that Nablus soap you have is the best and most natural of the 3. Aleppo soap is good though as it mixes olive and laurel oil. It can be expensive like the Nablus but you can get some good deals if you have a middle eastern supermarket nearby.
@@johnnyg1933 I have very dry skin so I order handmade lard soap on Etsy or use Dove Sensitive skin. Yes, Castile soap is very harsh on skin, if it doesn't bother you, then no problem
My skin , like me, is old now. I can’t find a body wash or soap that doesn’t leave my skin dry now. I don’t like having to almost empty a lotion bottle after a shower. Will I like this?

my only problem with it is that it disintegrates easily in water. doesn't last long.

It is not 100% coconut. It contains glycerin, which mostly comes from palm oil.
