This was awesome! I took this same bus tour in 1985 when I was a kid. I remember driving along and seeing that same Bald Eagle nest! Brought back so many memories! They also talked about how long it will take them to 'crawl' their next space shuttle to the launching pad. Unfortunately I was in class in school 7 months late to witness the Challenger tragedy.
We went there in 1971 and all there was back then was a small building and a bus boarding area where the buses started the space flight complex guided tour. We got out to enter a block house and also left the bus to enter the VAB. The tour cost $2.00. We are going to Disney World next weekend you saved us a trip to the Cape as we were trying find the funds to pay the way there and admission. Thanks for the excellent visit video. Maybe next time we a in central Florida.
This video is so amazing and I can't thank you enough for putting it up. I've been to Kennedy Space Centre twice now and it changes each time. The last visit was great in that we got to see the Atlantis. When it was revealed from behind the black screen I was overcome. I can't explain it any better than that. Just overpowered by the experience. But the first time I was there was probably the best because I saw that we could have lunch with an astronaut but it was a little out of our budget. I was gutted. BUT, as we were about to leave, the astronaut, Bill Pogue, was leaving for the day too. I got to say hi, shake the guys hand and have a brief chat. I can't tell you what that meant to me. Living in England I don't get to experience that kind of thing ever. And when I did I was so grateful. He was such a great guy. So, thanks for this video, thanks for the memories, and I can't wait for 2018, and my return visit to Florida and the Space Coast! 😍
I am a history teacher in Texas and we have been to Johnson Space Center here. I love listening to you talk about everything there. You sound really into your info/story. You do great jobs.....ps you really make our time between trips to Disney so much more enjoyable.
Amazing!!!! So enjoyed this vlog! My father-in-law used to fuel the first rockets that went up from there. He met alot of the astronauts. Was it by design or accident that you posted this today, the 30th Ann. of the Challenger Explosion? Either way, very fitting tribute. Thank you for this!
i had memory flash backs, watching the Kennedy space center.. i have been their soo many times with my loved ones when i was a kid..also love adam the woo he is soo funny and adorable...ttyl tim and jen...
So excited you did this video! We were there Dec 27 and Jan 9. During Christmas they do a light and projection show on the side of that B1 rocket! It was really cool! Thanks so much for this video and all your great commentary! when you are there with kids that run from one thing to another you don't have time to read everything so it is so cool to see this video and listen to your awesome commentary! Thanks so much for sharing with us!
Thanks for sharing...KSC is so cool! I haven't been there in a long time. The last time I was there my Dad was still alive and healthy. He was a huge space buff, and some of that rubbed off on me. I miss him, so your video reminds me of good times with Dad...bittersweet!
I did Scuba Diving for 3 years , rescue diver P.A.D.I. And i have been told when you in the water in Scuba gear its like being a astronaut......as they do learn and train in the water ...... SO COOL ! .....i miss it Scuba diving .
We had such an exciting day back in 2014 when a tornado hit and we were evacuated into the a cinema for safety! Didn't get to stop on the coach tour as it was Florida rain and tornado threat didn't allow. So looking forward to doing it all again in 268 days :-) the Atlantis Experience was awesome.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE THIS! WHEN I MAKE IT BACK TO FLORIDA, THIS WILL BE A MUST SEE TRIP! THANK YOU FOR SHOWING ME WHAT IVE BEEN MISSING! I know this was posted a long time back for Tim and Jenn but, I love going to Universal and DISNEYWORLD . BECAUSE OF THIS...ITS TIME TO INCLUDE NASA IN A VACATION TRIP! YOU GUYS PLZ DO THIS AGAIN!!!!!
Kennedy Space centre is amazing. We enjoyed it so much that we upgraded so we could go back again before we flew home. Brings back so many amazing memories and lots of facts that we didn't find out from our visits.
Awesome video Tim & Jenn.. I went to KSC back in March 2015, and I hope to go back real soon.. It was an amazing experience to be enveloped in that amount of American history all at one time.. And to be that close to one of the Space Shuttles, was awe inspiring..
I started actually CRYING when he showed us the Saturn 5 rocket because IT WAS SO AMAZING and it made me so HAPPY and aaaaaaaaaaah i love spaceeeeeeeeee
Love Kennedy Space Center, we were just there in November. After my husband got relocated to Patrick AFB we were able to take a tour of Cape Canaveral so we were able to see a little more of the history of the shuttle program then what Kennedy is able to show.
Wow how great was that!!!! Here in Kansas at the Hutchinson Cosomophere has a fabulous collections of space items. Here in Hutchinson is where the Liberty Bell was cleaned after it was found. Now it is on display. If you are ever in this area come check it out and then you can also go down in in the salt mine too!!! Whoo whoo LOL
This was a great video! It's a dream of mine to come out to FL, not only for the theme parks but also the space center. The Space Shuttle reveal was incredible! I just got back from seeing Endeavour at the science center in LA (vlog coming soon). Anyway, great stuff guys!!
Went here for the first time last year and absolutely LOVED it! Watching this put me right back there and has me itching to go again. I will say though that when we took the tour they didn’t have us get off the bus anywhere other than the Saturn...V? Building. :( I wonder why they changed that...
Watching this brought back so many memories for me I went there about 15 yrs ago with my Dad and Grandparents! We were going to watch a rocket (i dont remember which one) take off but the take off was cancelled due to bad weather! It was so much fun so much history! Thank you for sharing @TheTimTracker :)
The sandbag structure by the camera truck was a old camera bunker which used to have a tracking camera to film the launches for after launch checking to look for faults
This was a spectacular video guys! I remember going to Kennedy Space Center once as a kid and only remembering space ice cream and dippin dots. Haha We are thinking of adding this to our itinerary for our trip this year! Thanks again for sharing your space adventure!!
This was an awesome clip! I grew up in Zephyrhills and we would take field trips here and Universal/Disney alot. Kind of sad with the kids now a day's it's like come on kids were taking a field trip to the... parking lot!!! 😐
My family and I went to the KSC back in 2010 on our 2nd FL trip...okay...my family went to the KSC..I stayed in the car having my first gallbladder attack because of gallstones. I sat in the car for a good 4 hours. I got a nice view of the parking lot at least! I'm still bound and determined to go back and actually go inside some day. Considering it's only an hour drive away from me now :)
Thank you so much for bringing me along for the tour Tim and Jenn i enjoyed it a lot it was very informative and fun and i loved the dinosaur reference my friends.
thank you so much for this video, big thanks to ADAM who is always great in your videos. i just found out my job gives me a pretty decent discount for the space center so i'll have to go there soon on one of my disney trips.
when I was a travel agent..I booked so many cruise clients and everyone loved it. one of my clients were lucky enough to have the astronaut lunch with John Glen.
It used to be that you can go inside of the shuttle. But this new display they have of it is very beautiful. You guys didn't talk about the launch simulator. Did you ride it?
This is so cool to see your reactions to the spacey things! I was there once last year, I saw most of the stuff u did, so I knew some of the stuff u showed. Hope u had fun!
This was AMAZING! Thank you so much for taking us on the tour! This is definitely something I hope to do with my family some day soon! Again, thank you so much for this vlog!
Hey guys thanks for the tour, every year since 2008 my family & I travel to Orlando but have never gone to NASA. So so cool, we will definitely add this into our next trip.
how awesome tim and jenn! and even more today is the 30th anniversary of challenger!how much did it cost for the lunch and walk thru? it is awesome im sure. i would love the chance to do this.
The tour guide on the bus sounded like Steve Buscemi lol!! Awesome video. It was very cool and interesting to hear what the astronaut had to say. Thanks for taking us with you for that!
I had lived in Orlando for 20 years, and went to the KSC numerous times when I was a driver of shuttle buses town cars and limos. Since moving to Philly, I had not seen it since 1993...and had not seen the "New" KSC - Very nice - Thanks for the cool video...Much appreciated..! I am a space buff, and love this stuff, more now than when I was younger. Are you in the Titusville area? My mom lives there, and want to go there when I visit her next time. MH :)
I visited Kennedy Space Centre in Nov 2014. I remember watching the Atlantis reveal, I was so awestruck by the shuttle! Such a massive piece of history
lol @ the end... am I a daily vlogger?!?! How does this camera thing work anyway?! I love you 3 together, what a fun trip to Kenedy Space Center, I have never been, maybe one day. I too love astronaut ice cream!
I've been all over Johnson Space Center (first visit was before they built the visitors center so you just walked around the actual campus). I really want to go to the Kennedy SC as well.
I"m proud to say I know the guy that designed the Orion Patch, Mr. Mike Okuda, who worked on Star Trek designing the graphics. He also designed the patch for the restoration of Neil Armstrong's suit.
I went here last April and loved it so much. Going back to Orlando in oct 2017 for my honeymoon. I will definitely be going back to Kennedy space centre. hope I get to meet you guys in the parks 😀
The two rockets behind the wall are a Mercury/Redstone and a Mercury/Atlas. The Saturn on its side is a Saturn IB, not a Saturn B1. I hope you bought all the stuff you tried on :) The astronauts don't "crawl into the space" below the escape rocket. The escape rocket actually pulls the entire Orion capsule with it. The escape system is only usable during the first few minutes of launch. Once the SLS has reached an altitude of around 50 to 60 miles, you don't need the escape system any more. The Orion capsule would simply detach from the SLS and parachute back to earth. The system is very similar to what was used in Apollo - although the Apollo escape system never needed to be used in anger as the Saturn Vs and the IBs used in the programme all performed properly. The SRBs lifted themselves. Indeed, they provided the vast bulk of the initial thrust. At launch, of the 6.5 million pounds of thrust, 5 million pounds came from the SRBs. "Only" 1.5 million came from the Space Shuttle Main Engines (SSMEs).
Tim and Jenn I love all your vlogs but this one was amazing looks like you had a great day I passed outside nasa space centre but didnt have time to go in keep up the good work
I go to the ksc almost everyday and i have assisted in the launch of every rocket that has been launched from there. The kerbal space center really feels like home :)
Ok, dang it you win. I thought this place would be lame and boring, man was I wrong! Next time the family goes to Orlando, we, will, go, there! Thanks for the video! Maybe we will see you at the parks!
I love that place. It's so beautiful. And I love Astronomy btw. I love how are brains cannot comprehend how massive the Universe truly is..

The last time I went to KSC I got to see the Atlantis on the launch pad for its final launch its was honestly one of the coolest things I've ever seen
