The Party of Five Moves to a Wild Enclosure

- Boudreaux, Beignet, Bluebeary, Blackbeary, and Hucklebeary are five-month-old black bear cubs. They're residing at Appalachian Bear Rescue until they’re big enough to return to the wild later this year. Today, they left The Cub House for a Wild Enclosure where they will live for the remainder of their stay. They'll be able to climb trees, forage for food, and swim.
Appalachian Bear Rescue (ABR), founded in 1996, is located just outside the Great Smoky Mountains National Park near Townsend, Tennessee. It is a rehabilitation center for orphaned and injured black bear cubs, two years of age or younger, with the goal to release them back to the wild as soon as possible.

All of them are so cute. Such curiosity for all is arownd them. Now they will lern to live on their own. To look for food, to look for shelter. ABR made a great job all this years with little orphan cubs. Good luck little ones!
I love watching our little bear babies and hope they don't decide to hide in the underbrush like the yearlings. Looks like they like their new larger living quarters. Thank God for ABR.

WOWSER look at the size of those ears!! Wonderful that they are all safe and able to climb. Are they fed at all now they are in the wild area?
Hello, Christine. The curators still have to throw lots and lots of food over the fence. The Wild Enclosure is a half-acre and can't supply enough naturally growing food to feed five hungry little bears. They do eat leaves and insects to supplement the food we give them, but they're dependent on us for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

I think cub floaties may be needed for some of the babies in the pool. They are so sweet
Another milestone. Great release.. like good bears they made a quick getaway from evil humans. 😣 love to see them free to explore their new world! One day they’ll grow into those goofy lovable ears. 😍❤️. Thanks for all you do.

"Boudreaux finds food" caption...Of Course Boudreaux finds food! Evidence everything is running (and eating) smoothly in the wild enclosure for the Party of Five.
I sure hope they all decide to hunt their food. In the video they kept going all around those pears and apples but only one snatch one up to eat. Hopefully they’ll all stay close together until they get the hang of it.
