Tekken 8 is a fighting game developed by Bandai Namco Studios and Arika. Bandai Namco Entertainment published the game for PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S on January 26, 2024. It is the eighth canon release and tenth overall entry in the Tekken series.

In India back in early 2000s we called it hooaaa it was like ⬅️↙️⬇️↘️➡️ then upper right button for punch

Nah, he beat Ogre (Ancient Ogre), then left the tournament because he thought he won. But Ancient Ogre transformed into True Ogre, who Jin then beat, making him the true winner of that tournament.
It's pretty insane that a mere mortal managed to defeat a "God of Fighting," who was probably genetically engineered from aliens.

Nope. It's for competitive balance. A move that deals a lot of damage is not fun if YOU are the one receiving that damage.

I miss the replay at the end of the round and that echo in your opponents scream when they would lose ☹️ so much nostalgia just felt so classic

its amazing how the tracking of the animation follows the motion of the body, starting from the shoulder, going all the way through the elbow till the arm and BOOOOOM

In Tekken 8 they made it a mixup, he can cancel it or release it early to mess with the opponent, so if they try to interrupt him he can counter hit them. It's actually more practical now.
Ya gotta miss the old animation with his neck and shoulders becoming completely dislocated
Ken + Guile = Paul
One of my favourite moves in the series.
It's very satisfying if you can land a hit with it. Just need to find the right moment or it gets interrupted.

They did say tekken 8 focuses on personality, but honestly that nerf is against that. Paul's whole personality used to be based on that one shot and his death-fist and that made him call himself "strongest in the universe", if u nerf those it's no longer paul

realistically unblockables should be between 40-60% damage. you have to get a really good read to land one so i do t understand why the reward for hitting one decreases with each successive Tekken game. it should be treated like another comeback mechanic alongside Rage Arts, Heat Smashes, etc.

It makes me mad that the creators weakened him this much. Wang Jinrei did 100% damage and he was 105 years old. So why is Paul so much weaker?
Wow I thought his burning fist is always one hit. Imagine that in Tekken 8, his gameplay would've been a lot easier, more fun, and more convenient when defeating opponents.
In practice the move is not that great because it has one of the most visible, most telegraphed wind ups in the history of all punches, so really it doesn't make a difference to Paul's kit. It is however no longer fun to screw around with.

You can change the parameters in Tekken 3 to have much less hp so i guess its reduced because i know for a fact that move cannot kill you in one hit
@@DhantExMachina Yes it can with standard options. You cannot reduce, only increase like 120 % of normal HP.

Doesn't literally every character have a 100 hp, one hit KO move? So why is everyone saying this in particular is the strongest move in the game?
I dont think the move got nerfed... All dmg got nerfed in general. Remember 3 kicks was like 70% dmg if not more, in tekken 2-3. In tekken 5 we didnt have the aerial combos we have now.. he could perform 2-3 moves max and the dmg output was much bigger than it is now, performing those very moves.. in tekken 6 a better aerial combo logic was introduced, and it seemed like gemeral dmg output was changed. In tekken 7 was the same thing, slight changes. And tekken 8 now seems like you are fighting heihachi all the time, no one dies.. for very long.. dmg is generally reduced over the years, and health got biggeer. Its natural that many moves will do less dmg ...
How to play it on PC?
Aaand in the comments are a lot of people who don't get that it's now a CHARGEABLE CANCELLABLE MID that is insane at a wall. Smh.

ok well if you nerf the damage so much. Why not increase the frame speed of the move ? i think that’s a fair trade off. Cause this isn’t right ! you will barley land that hit anyways so why nerf it ?
