That's fishing heaven summed up in 17 minutes. If I was asked to pick a method and fish it for the rest of my days the stickfloat on the mighty Trent would be an easy choice. Great session Rob
The best way to catch, we now have flow and colour in our local rivers, so the Pete warren and John allerton float will be out, matched up with a old 15ft drennan floatmaster. Dream days for sure. 👍👍
Very nice fishing rob. But on my local stretch of the trent the barbel are all doubles and not there in numbers just the odd 1 or 2. You got any advice on how to target them more
Hi Paul, if you haven’t tried meat yet, take a back up bait as well. Loads of hemp as feed use casters as well. I’ve seen barbel get spooked from meat in low clear conditions. Just upstream of where the video was made.. I even used fluro hooklink. To pick out the biggest, feed off the other fish first. The biggest barbel will sit back and watch first. Once they get confident the biggest will bully out the smaller fish and go mad. They get extremely competitive. Good luck

My favourite species and method, there really is no finer way to catch them than donning some waders and running a float through.

hi mate what area is that and is it day ticket , ive fished fiskerton a couple of times but i struggled on the stick float with just small fish

Maybe rolling meat down the peg ... Meats been a brilliant bait for me and others this year. Loads of hemp as feed and meat on the hook.
