Southern Rock at it's finest
They were THE best Southern Rock band, and I’d venture to say they’re in the top 5 Rock bands, ever. They’re my personal favorite. Hardly anyone makes music like this anymore. People aren’t playing instruments anymore. It’s a shame.
They make my top three for sure! Stones, Zeppelin and Skynyrd 🤘
That's why ROCK RULES
Watch the speed limit if driving and listening to this 😊😂
Skynyrd is the sheet, Southern Rock Royalty. Thanks for the reaction.
Billy Powell is a master at piano!
And this song highlights his mastery!
Your smile told me all I need to know 👍😂✌️❤️
Billy Powell on piano
Billy Powell the best wasn't he!
@@JaquelineGoodspeedBilly Powell and Chuck Leavall...
And in the live video of this song he plays almost the whole piano solo with only one hand.
The band on that song was
Ronnie Van Zant. Vocals
Gary Rossington. Lead guitar
Allen Collins. Guitar
Ed King Guitar
Leon Wilson. Bass
Bob Burns. Drums
Billy Powell. Keyboards
**Mr Billy Powell was so ridiculously good on the keys
Greatest Band Ever
Now you gotta check out the man that wrote this song, as well as After Midnight and Cocaine. . . Mr. JJ Cale!
Watch the live version at Knebworth in 1976!
Yes, yes, yes, check please please please JJ Cale
Yep, let check about this unique Artist, JJ Cale, merci Daniel
Billy Powell was one of their roadies and they heard him messing around on the piano while he was setting the stage....they asked if he wanted to join the band!
These guys started in high school together, and when they got serious, they had a shack in the swamps they called Hell House, and they spent hours on end there, no a/c, and perfected their sound. They really worked hard to become as good as they were, and so tragic they had such an end.
A excellent southern rock 'road song' is Molly Hatchet's "Flirtin' with Disaster" 😁
🔥🔥🔥👍🔥🔥🔥
It's good to see you younger guys showing respect do these past greats. I'm 66 years old. I've seen and heard them all. There has never been music ever, that was better, from the mid-1950s to the early 1980s. The talent was absolutely incredible. Oh and by the way, that's when people actually played instruments. Long live American rock music, soul music, country music and especially the blues. Without the blues we would have had nothing! Keep up the good work guys.
Freebird
Your smiles say it all.
This song never left my playlist😊
Next "T For Texas" live in 1976 at Knebworth. Their Free Bird that day was the best live performance since Ronnie pissed off Mick Jagger so bad by putting his guitar army on Mick's private catwalk for the solo. The Stones refused to come out for hours until the crowd settled down from their Skynyrd induced frenzy! Here's the link. th-cam.com/video/SY63KTMrkTM/w-d-xo.html&pp=ygUfdCBmb3IgdGV4YXMgbHlueXJkIHNreW55cmQgbGl2ZQ%3D%3D
Gary Rossington with the great guitar solo!
Dude,,,,your reaction was FANTASTIC,,,,,,🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣💥👍
Saw them twice !!😍🔥🎸🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐😢😢
Jacksonville, Fl. finest.
Love skynrd
The best Skynrd song ever! Came out when I was 18! 🎸
There are 3 guirarist
One of the best groups ever!
Rossington!!!!!
♥️ R.I.P. to those gone. You all certainly left your mark.
I love me my Skynyrd! Thanks guys! This was fun. Keep delving into them.
My man on the right of my side of view is correct about some of the most diverse of musicians back then. When you're done with Skynyrd, I suggest that you dive into the rabbit hole known as, "Rush". It will definitely bring your channel views. Also, you'll discover your favorite drummer's favorite drummer. Neil Peart (RIP). You'll also discover one of rock's most renowned bass players, Geddy Lee. He was also the lead vocalist while handling keyboards and foot pedals. "Dance monkey dance!" OH yeah, The guitarist, Alex Lifeson, who formed the band with Geddy in his basement also ripped. He just got a wee bit over shadowed.
"Call Me the Breeze" is a rock song by J. J. Cale. It first appeared on his 1972 debut album, Naturally, as the opening track. The song consists of a 12-bar blues guitar shuffle and features the early use of a drum machine.
My favorite song of my all time favorite band.
I seen them three times before the plane crash and my first ever concert was ZZ Top and Lynyrd Skynyrd on July 4, 1974 in Alabama and the modern Lynyrd Skynyrd is touring again in 2024 with ZZ Top and I have my April 6 tickets in Huntsville, Alabama… yeah I’m old lol 69 years and still love concerts!
A stunning performance
Road Trip Song?
Hell Yeah!!! With the "pedal to the metal".
You are right. Sweet Home Alabama was one they were known for.❤
Road trip song and a trip to the corner store! ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
You’ll love “The Ballad of Curtis Lowe”.
Great reaction, you guys are hilarious, finally good music, makes me want to dance 🙂
Gary Rossington is so underrated.
Somebody give the horns Sum!..😂❤
Always love LS ❤
Love the reaction how fun was that? And I really appreciate the observation about multitasking because it's not always but so often the really amazing bands that reached so many people, they could all do multiple things really well. I mean and why would that not be good? It just stands to reason. It's just multiplies the possibilities so much.
I - 95 and Lynyrd Skynyrd. Drive through the Carolina’s jamming. Turned it loud put the cruise on if not your getting a ticket.
Speeding ticket music!
Every time I catch a speeding ticket this song is on - predisposition of Lead-foot-itis. Kicks in every time.
There is just no way to sit still listening to this music. You what jump up slap your knees and stomp your feet. Whoo wee !!
There’s a great live YT video of this on the British show, The Old Grey Whistle Test from about 1975 or so.
Deep Purple Machine Head album especially Highway Star song. What a traveling jam.
I'd suggest T for Tennessee (from skynyrd) live...
You should check out Got That Right, with Ronnie sharing lead vocals with guitarist Steve Gaines.
It's a shame their career was cut short due to tragedy after tragedy. They were so talented
I was on the road last year for 3 months and this was my traveling song
Written by fellow Tulsa , Oklahoma boy JJ Cale. One of Eric Clapton's closest friend and fellow musician.
This song is at the top of everyone in my road trip playlist
Absolutely a road trip song .
Dig you GA peaches
New subscriber, like the channel. Keep on rockin 😁
This is some get the hell outta town music.
The whole Second Helping Album is a masterpiece of Southern Rock. From start to finish, there isn't a weak song on it.
Great Reaction to a Great Song!
Best Southern Rock band ever IMO! Not sure if you checked this one out yet, but I recommend T for Texas off their live album “One More From the Road”
If you like this, you must do, "Tuesday's Gone" by Lynyrd Skynyrd. Their best song besides Freebird imho. Much love!
try the live at Knebworth 1976 version
Check out freebird live in Oakland in 1977.
It's funny , my Sisters first hang glider was a dinare and her glider was called the Breeze
On The Hunt - Winterland 1975
Artimus Pyle laying down the beat, Gary Rossington tearing the guitar up, and Billy Powell on ivory. Ronnie Van Zant telling you about it. Most of Billy's solo is played one handed.
That was Bob Burns on drums. Artimus Pyle replaced Bob in 75.
@@nickwilliams4120 Good catch, I was thinking of that live 76 show
J.J.Cale composed, Al Kooper produced ???
T for Texas, live at the 1976 Knebworth festival in England. You’re welcome.
This is a JJ Cale song … this version is considerably faster and grittier than the original. They both have a lot to recommend them…
I sang a sort of hybrid of the two interpretations when I was in a band, years ago ❤️😇
Mister Breeze, it is Mr JJ Cale
Love this song, just love it. Nice reaction.
Don't let the older gentleman be a bad influence, young man, U got all life for that.
This album was fun light hearted music loving fun.
Next "T For Texas"
I didn;t know Kid from Kid n Play was still around.
You can’t not tap foot Bob head or break the speed limit to jam
Need to see a live version to appreciate it
...
the one in England in 76 ? is the best
@@gmarky81 yes the one in Knebworth
Simple Man , Freebird ; Tuesday’s Gone and Ballard of Curtis Leow should be next..
You gotta hear the live version. All Skynyrd songs are better recorded on stage live vs studio recordings.
JJ Cale cover
If you haven't done it yet check out I Know A Little
Skynard was a great great band, lots of super songs. JJ Cale wrote this, and also Cocaine, After Midnight, and bunch of tunes others covered. JJ's made lots of albums. JJ's the lowest low key guy ever, but if you like, you'll really like him. He scratches an itch you might not know you've got.
Let go, take a choice to Mr Cale
RVZ (R.I.P.) not another like him, ever.
1:03 - it doesn't take long, does it?
when you play music because you love music you get Lynyrd Skynyrd, when you play music because you love money you get Miley Cyrus
Alarm clock music
What are Yinz guys sipping???
I need me some chicken fried steak now, lol. Are you two related or just friends?
