Easy enough to go with the 45-70 as it's in the Un-Modded Base Game, and Munitions doesn't have any of the DGR Calibers available to use. So pretty much stuck at the Point of a Rock and a Hard Place Caliber Choice wise a bit. Damn cool Mod none the less and thanks for making it.
New Zealand Guy took the 45-70, put it in a Modern Precision Bolt Action Rifle and was Tack Driving at 2,000 plus Yards. Not being satisfied with that, he swapped out the 45-70 for the 45-90 or 45-110 (forget which 1), and started Tack Driving at like 3,200 or 3,500 Yards. I believe this equates to the Label of being a Chad.
Hey just wanted to remind everyone that in addition to this fantastic mod they also just posted a new 12.7 mm pistol from New Vegas ( munitions required). I hope everyone has a good day and thanks again to Dak and Pigness for all of the fantastic mods you guys have been putting out, you guys are the best! Edit: Dak linked the 12.7mm as a pinned comment.
@@lynackhilou4865 As a rule of thumb, whenever Dak releases a presentation vid of a new weapon, it means there's already another weapon that he hasn't made a vid on that he and CEP team released.
This is awesome, thank you to Dak and everyone else involved on this mod. I have two of these in real life and they are a joy to take out to the range and getting to see these in my game is so very cool.
That super long scope and the sloped angle of the stock remind me a lot of the Manwell Rifle CC content for F4. That weapon set is chambered in .308 (no rechambers available in game) and could be either semi-auto or fully automatic
Every day, the mods do what Bethesda couldnt Make Fallout 4 the game it should of been. (Seriously Dak your a piller of the trusted and beloved Fallout modding community.)
I'd like to see a Sharps Rifle mod. Sharps Rifles were falling block rifles, a predecessor to the rolling block. They had a lever action to open the bolt and the hammer was off to the side like a musket.
YESSS exactly what I was looking for in my western commonwealth load order. I couldn't find any cowboy snipers similar to the stuff from the red dead series. I was looking for a rolling block thank you!
The gun fits pretty well in post apocalypse. It's mechanism is very simple and can handle common military round at the time (.308 etc.). This could have been US military rifle if only trapdoor conversion wasn't cheaper. Many country still use this as second-line rifle up to WW1 though.
There are so many guns I want to see you do. Like the Neal concept rotary smg, a .22 smg with a rotary barrel(similar to a minigun) and fed by hellic magazines in the rear, apparently firing at a rate of 3000rpm. I am okay with you adjusting the design in some capacity to work better, but I would love to see your take on such a weapon.
Do you plan to keep these weapons to just guns? some cool unique melees would be cool. like a big and powerful chainsaw that uses fuel would be awesome.
Idk if Dak is going to see this or not. But i figured mention that i would love to see a Landstad 1900. its an interesting revolver/semi-auto pistol combination. It has a two chamber cylinder where the magazine feeds into the bottom chamber to then flip it to the top side when you pull the trigger to fire it.
I'd like to see them tackle a SMLE/De Lisle Commando Carbine combo weapon, munitions has .303 and the De Lisle used .45. Hell, could throw the SREM 1 in there, that'd be cool
If you ever do a redux of your weapon mods, or a combined pack, or just update this one in particular, a couple of points I think could benefit the mod-if there's one thing I think would really make this perfect, it would be the addition of an aperture/peep/lyman style tang sight as an additional modification beyond the standard iron sight. Something like the brush gun's rear aperture in New Vegas, or similar to the Browning High Wall New Vegas mod. It would allow sniping without using a scope, for those who really want to go for that cowboy vibe. Now, as for slight nitpicks that don't detract from the mod, but could make it more accurate to the real deal, the extractor/ejector handle on most rolling blocks generally isn't quite as large as you have it here, and for .45-70, the modeling of the barrel diameter is too small (not the barrel as a whole, thats fine, but the chamber area), that looks more like the 8mm Lebel or 7mm Mauser versions of the rolling block. Animations wise, what you've got currently works fine, there are plenty of earlier rolling blocks where manual extraction is a thing, but the choice to use the left hand to manipulate the action slows down your rate of fire on an already slow gun. Usually, the right hand is used, which allows a more or less single, smooth operation of cocking the hammer and opening the breech, and removing the cartridge. It also has the added benefit of maintaining two points of contact between your shoulder and the left hand, instead of leaving all that extra weight unbalanced at the front by holding on with your right, which maintains aim. Overall, this is fantastic, and I'm so excited to go download it immediately. Great work Dak & Pig!
It's much MUCH easier for the left hand to move in animations than the right because of how the gun is tied to the right hand bone, most if not all animators prefer to use the left hand.
@@Pigness7 that makes a lot more sense!! Thank you for the clarification! The existing animation looks amazing, I got caught up in thinking of the irl mechanics of it and didn't stop to think about the modding constraints. And that's fair, I'm pretty sure Bethesda's .45-70 round's model is smaller than it should be, tbh
Could you add a melee weapon of the bruiser attachment where you hold it like a axe, could even take it a step further and have the melee weapon only be useable if you have the gun with the attachment in your fast swapping thing like if you have the weapon out already and hit the button it pulls the axe out. idk if that's even possible would be neat. a legendary standalone melee weapon would be cool to.
