He really was one of the few wrestlers who made mitb ladder match an important match. His athletism in those matches was unmatchable
Benjamin was one of most important wrestlers in nearly all the mitb ladder matches at wrestlemanias. He deserved to win atleast one of them
the running up the ladder spot was so good they put it in svr 2007
That and you can run up the ladder and jump off it from the inside of the ring to the outside best feature ever

And a million thanks for those memories! Shelton MADE those early Money in the Bank matches in my opinion. It was must watch. Its a crime he never actually won it.
Whenever I see him in a ladder match I know it’s gonna be an amazing match.
The stunts he did for MITB are legendary because no one else has been able to do the same
The bump he took off of a Ric Flair chop in that ladder match was nothing short of legendary.
Shelton deserved a run at the top of the card.

I recall them having a title match during HHH’s infamous “reign of terror” (02-05) and Shelton had a really good showing, and I thought it would just be a matter of time… but no 😢

I will die on the hill that Shelton should have won the WM 22 MITB ladder match in 2006.
RVD was popular and could have had ECW anyway, It made sense even without the briefcase. Plus, Shelton wouldn't have shot himself in the foot like RVD did
That year’s MITB was a pawn to the Cena/Edge rivalry, it was used to escalate their feud. It didn’t really matter, except maybe because RVD cashed in at Extreme Rules and was the “hometown” favourite, so it was a crowd pleaser, but in the grand scheme it was just a transitional moment to keep the fire stoked under Cena and Edge’s feud.
He is one of the most underatted wrestlers with the Miz. He should have won the 1st mitb. I doesnt matter if he could talk well, he could have let his moves doing the talking since actions speaks louder than words. God Bless.

@@KDB349not underrated by the company, but maybe the fans? Especially with where he started out… the “reality show guy”. He had to bust his chops harder than a lot of others because of that tag, and now is kind of just *there*… he’s rarely in the big storylines, even when he was at the top winning the WWE championship. He’s the upper-midcarder that punched the glass ceiling. But he is a journeyman now in wrestling terms, he’s been there for about 20 years but doesn’t get mentioned in the same breath as Cena, Orton etc. and that’s why I would agree that yes he is underrated.
I believe the Sunset flip spot he’s talking about is Wrestlemania 22 where he and Bobby Lashley are on the ladder. He does a sunset flip move to try and power bomb Lashley off. Lashley holds on until Finley and Matt Hardy help Shelton slam Lashley off the ladder. 99% certain

The first ladder big ladder match he was in was Judgment Day 2003: Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas vs Eddie Guerrero and Tajiri
To this day, it blows my mind that Shelton Benjamin never won a MITB Ladder Match as he should've. I think he should've won the 2008 MITB Ladder Match at WrestleMania 24 & then he could've cashed in at SummerSlam to become WWE Champion.
