No way. The reason why Archer chose to help Shirou in this route was that he reneged on his ideals and chose to help Sakura. He betrayed his own ideals but Archer was happy with that. Shirou didn't repeat his mistakes. His hands would finally hold something and the fate of the Counter Guardian is broken. Archer still cannot be saved, but he created a different future for his other self.

I only just noticed after seeing the still images again. Why did they draw Heracles killing the Hydra with his Stone blade axe instead of with his Bow like he should have been using. Further more that same blade axe was made out of a Boulder by the Einzbergs before the 5th war. It wasn’t something used in his life. Guess the artists made a mistake.
Just like Saber Alter this Berserker is no longer a Servant, a heroic spirit, but something different. That's how Shirou killed Saber Alter. That been stated in the movie tho.
So, yes, this scene is really badass and exceeded my expectations, but can I say that I absolutely love the illustrations of the 12 labors? Heracles really killed some eldritch horrors here!

If you watch this route like it is the same Shirou from UBW reliving an alternate 5th war in order to actually know the story of the grails and finish an enemy far greater than what he has faced. Then without a doubt this feels like a complete story and Archer knows he has developed. I really like to think like that when i watched this route and it was amazing and sad that this is the end of Fate Stay Night characters. But what a great story it was.

The sound of his voice at 0:20 gave me chills. This needs subtitles. Shirou Emiya surpasses his future self to slay Hercules, a literal Demi God. In these few moments he embodies the most purest form of transcendental existentialism. He embodies in this scene, the will to live and the all important question: “Why am I here? What is my purpose?”
At that moment,shirou chose something emiya and kiritsugu couldnt afford to choose The life of someone you love over the world Shirou broke that emiya's curse.
A lot of people say that this version's archer is the happiest because in the UBW route we learned how against the hypocrisy of emiya shirou he was, but he himself eventually got overwritten by his own ideal again, represented in his past self. Emiya Shirou says "I doubted myself, because I saw how painful it was, but no more, because out of everything, I cannot bring myself to lose to myself out of all people" which was archer, aka the EMIYA heroic spirit, it's a really nice duality but if they ever clashed they would've always reached that conclusion, in some cases you could even go as far as to theorise the world sent EMIYA the heroic spirit to confront his past self just to reconnect to his roots and continue as a guardian spirit for the world(my personal head canon) I honestly think every itteration of archer ultimately still does what the essence of shirou is, and that is to sacrifice himself towards a fake ideal, something rooted in hypocrisy, accepting that this cannot be reached and still trying to reach for it is what makes the emiya heroic spirit and shirou himself, shirou. I don't like heaven's feel shirou, this could've easily been the strongest itteration of shirou if archer and shirou just fought like in UBW, there was no need for that to change, but instead they butchered down what made shirou impressive and tried to make him give up on that, so they made a shirou that's honestly selfish in a more common way, not the shirou that's selfish in a more weird way, the true self sacrifice mode type of way, which was honestly what made him an interesting character in the first place imo, but other than that, I guess this moment here is representative of how shirou will never loose to himself no matter what path he takes, archer's not happy here because shirou gave up on trying to save everyone, but instead is happy for the same reason UBW archer was happy, and that's because he was surpassed even though he was so far ahead of his own self, literally.
Noticed in the montage of the 12 labours, the Amazons Heracles likely killed for the sash of the war god. Penthesilea has now activated her 3rd skill and her noble Phantasm lol
I think the reason why Archer smiled is that Shirou isn't being the "hero of justice" to save everyone, he's doing all of this to save someone, Ilya and Sakura and that makes Archer smile because Shirou has something he actually wants to protect and forgoes the entire hero of justice thing for the people he loves.
I think it was confirmed by Nasu that Archer smiled because he was glad that this Shirou would not end up like him, but he doesnt necessarily like or respect Shirou´s decisión since it isnt true to Archer´s perception on what the right thing to do is

I think they we’re going for a more slow motion vibe than a real time animation. Which makes sense because it adds more intensity to the scene but also looks really cool.
True, there's about 15 frame in each second making it run to 60fps isn't a good idea at all and it destroys the quality and adds some new false frames to the video
Sadly the only route where archer emiya is free from his weight and pain is on UBW , the only path where he saw where he failed on his own path, and thanks to that his flames of will ignite again.

A lot of people say that this version's archer is the happiest because in the UBW route we learned how against the hypocrisy of emiya shirou he was, but he himself eventually got overwritten by his own ideal again, represented in his past self.
Emiya Shirou says "I doubted myself, because I saw how painful it was, but no more, because out of everything, I cannot bring myself to lose to myself out of all people" which was archer, aka the EMIYA heroic spirit, it's a really nice duality but if they ever clashed they would've always reached that conclusion, in some cases you could even go as far as to theorise the world sent EMIYA the heroic spirit to confront his past self just to reconnect to his roots and continue as a guardian spirit for the world(my personal head canon)
I honestly think every itteration of archer ultimately still does what the essence of shirou is, and that is to sacrifice himself towards a fake ideal, something rooted in hypocrisy, accepting that this cannot be reached and still trying to reach for it is what makes the emiya heroic spirit and shirou himself, shirou.
I don't like heaven's feel shirou, this could've easily been the strongest itteration of shirou if archer and shirou just fought like in UBW, there was no need for that to change, but instead they butchered down what made shirou impressive and tried to make him give up on that, so they made a shirou that's honestly selfish in a more common way, not the shirou that's selfish in a more weird way, the true self sacrifice mode type of way, which was honestly what made him an interesting character in the first place imo, but other than that, I guess this moment here is representative of how shirou will never loose to himself no matter what path he takes, archer's not happy here because shirou gave up on trying to save everyone, but instead is happy for the same reason UBW archer was happy, and that's because he was surpassed even though he was so far ahead of his own self, literally.

I think the reason why Archer smiled is that Shirou isn't being the "hero of justice" to save everyone, he's doing all of this to save someone, Ilya and Sakura and that makes Archer smile because Shirou has something he actually wants to protect and forgoes the entire hero of justice thing for the people he loves.
I think it was confirmed by Nasu that Archer smiled because he was glad that this Shirou would not end up like him, but he doesnt necessarily like or respect Shirou´s decisión since it isnt true to Archer´s perception on what the right thing to do is
@@fabiocetrulo4462 Yeah, cuz in the UBW VN it is mentioned that Archer Emiya still goes with the "save everyone" ideal but only to those in his sights because he already knew that there would be those he could not save. But this Shirou is different due to the fact that he only wants to save one out of everyone else.

I think they we’re going for a more slow motion vibe than a real time animation. Which makes sense because it adds more intensity to the scene but also looks really cool.
True, there's about 15 frame in each second making it run to 60fps isn't a good idea at all and it destroys the quality and adds some new false frames to the video
Sadly the only route where archer emiya is free from his weight and pain is on UBW , the only path where he saw where he failed on his own path, and thanks to that his flames of will ignite again.
