Clean that new barrel and try it again, I bet it will shoot tighter, I wasn’t impressed with my PSA 6.5 Grendel upper but I’m nearly getting same hole groups at 100 yards with hornady custom 123 gr SST after I have shot a few boxes through it , I’ve went back and watched all of your Grendel videos, That gen 2 Ruger set up is sharp looking.
Nice setup. It’s a lot easier for me to get better groups while sitting with sand bags. That’s just me. You done well for standing. I like the grendel and even thought about getting a bolt gun in one of those. The msr is working on the bacon. Thx for the video 👍👍
Hornady custom 123 grain sst needs a little more velocity. Loading rhe 123 for myself and they print good. I use them and the eld-m for pigs, and they both are devastating. Couple yotes have fallen to them as well. The 129 sst are great on whitetail and pigs as well. If you ever get a chance to run some 120 gtain speer gold dots id recommend them over them all. Excellent performance and salvage the most meat. Fused round so very little, if any, fragmentation. Good vid!
Enjoy the video from my experience most rifles shoot their best groups after they break in a little bit have had a couple that surprised me and shot great right out of the box but generally 150 to 200 rounds they generally tighten up
Hey spider monkey, Jim over on the Backfire channel was having the same trouble as you are. He checked out a video by Ron Spomer Outdoors. Ron was saying that it’s very difficult to get good consistent groups shooting both copper and lead based bullets during the same range time without cleaning the barrel completely. It has something to do with the copper bullets fouling the barrel differently and leaving copper deposit in the riflings. You should check it out. This might help you to solve your problem. Great video by the way!!
Your shooting position seems very uncomfortable. I think you AND than rifle could do better from a better position. However, you are definitely minute of deer as is.
SpiderM. Now that you have had the 6.5 Grendel in the Howa mini and both Rugers gen one and gen two witch would you recommend if someone was going to buy a new one as far as fit , finish and actual accuracy?
Thats a tough question. I always preferred my ruger gen 1 over the howa but the howa is an amazing rifle. I haven't spent enough time with the gen 2 yet to give a fair shake. So far it resembles the gen 1 to me.
I have had 3 Grendel's. 2 bolt and an AR. I tried a dozen factory loads and hand loads. I never did get good accuracy. I really wanted a grendel but I want it accurate. I'm done with the grendel.
My gen2 grendel shoots like trash, 1.5 to 2 inch groups. I have several other rifles that can do under 1 inch that are comparable. Even my grendel AR build shoots better.

I'll give that a try for sure
Love that little 6.5 Grendel round
Mee too!
Fav lil deer caliber!!

Spidermonkey2A. Good video. Nice gun. Several really nice groups. Thanks for sharing and take care.
Very much appreciated 🙏
Nice video. Simple and to the point. My kinda style. No need to dive deep in the weeds on everything. It either shoots or it doesn’t. 👍
Much appreciated 🙏
Love the gun, looks great! Still can’t get one here in GA
I just got one Midway USA!!

Definitely! Thanks for the information and much appreciated
Check the torque on your action screws. Cleared up the flyers I was having

It's new for me doing a group test from that spot. I definitely have some work to do for sure.
Great vid! Hope your keeping that brass 😂
Much appreciated. And definitely!

Understandable
What color is that?
I want to purchase one soon, I love the one.
Stock is a camo ish color
That does not look like a budget rifle. Ruger has been knocking it out of the park for a while now.
Definitely has alot better appearance now
@@Spidermonkey2a yeah I’ve been a howa fan since 2017 but I’m loving the look of your ruger.
I love howa as well!
