That was an awesome review and demo of these pickups.
Your playing is incredible. Thank you
Thank you kindly!
Thanks for posting. Great demo (playing and sounding) of these PUs that I was trying to gain knowledge of.
Glad you like the video✌️❤️
Excellent review. I love the way you play. You have the Fingers of the Guitar Gods.
Thank you Chris for your kind comments🤓✌️
I turned in for some info on tele pups and got lost in your playing. Awesome. Beautiful. Thank you.
My pleasure ✌️❤️
Very nice, thorough demo, Jonathan. I’m going to give them a try in one of my Teles.
Have fun!
Great solo. Thanks for the valuable pickup info.
Thank you Sam! ✌😀
GREAT PLAYING!! I just stumbled upon your video because I was trying to find out how to adjust my Vintage Stack pickup (neck - STK-T1n). Really good info... and entertainment! Cheers!
Thank you . I hope you have subbed✌️❤️
Your tone is awesome! Clean and dirty tones are great! Looks like I'll be installing these pickups in my Tele.
✌️❤️
Always a pleasure seeing and hearing you play.
Thank you so much Rowland 😀😀
@@JonIsJustTooLoud very nice input i have a tele fender from mexico is much the difrent betwen those two? thks again.
@@georgeirisarri4371 I cant really tell you anything as I havent played on a mim tele recently. ✌
Damn!! That is some mighty tasteful playing, my friend!! And the pickups sound great. Have a Tele coming my way with these in them. Thank you.
Nice!✌️❤️
That was some excellent playing. I just got the pickups myself and came here to give them a listen and yeah I cannot help but say that they sound great. Everything I love about the tele sound without that hum.
Awesome ✌️❤️
thank you so much.
fantastic review, great tunes, very appreciated.
Glad you like them!
fantastic review! and playing...
Thank you kindly!✌♥
Gotta tell ya Mate, I really enjoy ya playing and what y’all bring to the table! Cheers Dallas Toto
Thank you kindly✌️❤️
Oh yeah, those are nice. The neck is sweet and buttery with the bridge pronounced and vaulting in this demo. Love it!
✌️❤️
Came here for the pickups. Subscribed because of this guy's awesome play style. Wow.
welcome to the channel!✌♥
@@JonIsJustTooLoud Thanks, Jonathan!
That funky riff you started playing at 4:15 was awesome man. Your playing in the whole video is good but that funk action was the business.
Thank you✌️❤️
Wow Jonathan I was looking for some Tele Pickups for a newer Tele I just got so while searching I find another excellent Video by you and Demoing Duncans wow im sold. Exactally the Tone im looking for. Put on my Studio Headphones and on my Studio Sound card in PC and im blown away.... You Rock, Bless and stay safe and most of well thanks Jonathan....

Grazie fratello✌️❤️
I just bought a set of those tonight... Man I love how you play........
Thank you ✌💜!
Great playing, great pickups!
Thank you Dustin 🤓✌️
That's my dream guitar butterscotch sweetness.
I played one in Nashville guitar center from 1950's boy was it nice
I love how you said pickup transplant 😂👌 keep up the good work and teach us your method of soloing! You sound really great!
lol!!!! Thank you James for your kind encouragement!!✌😝
Sounds great, Jonathan! You've got such a great sound here and of course it's hard to say whether that's really the pickups or the great player. But great review!
Lol.. thank you but the pickups definitely makes a difference ✌️❤️
Damn Jonathan , you are an excellent player ! Great demo also
Thanks! ✌🤓
holy shit fantastic cut cheers and thank you
Thank you....✌️
Your guitar playing is out of this world.
Thank you
Thank you, I think you've helped cement my choice for my Tele: Vintage Stack Tele neck paired with the BG1400 bridge.
Great to hear!
You just sold me pickups! Thanks)
justaddguitar ✌️❤️
Awesome playing!
✌😀
Excellent playing!
Thank you ✌️❤️
That Thumb wrap is crazy man ! I came searching for BG1400 but this sounds nice.
✌️❤️
Jon, you rock dude!
Thank you ✌️❤️
Awesome video, great sounds thank you!
Glad you enjoyed!✌♥
Great playing, great sound.
Thank you!✌♥
Jonathan you rock!!
Thank you John! ✌️❤️
In the early '80's I had Duncans (he didn't have all of these new names at the time), installed in my '67 Fender Custom Tele. I've long since parted with that guitar, but the pickups still live in my MIM '92 Telecaster.
Cool!!
Killer playing, mate.
Thank you so much✌️❤️
Awesome review I think I'm gonna get the neck pickup
cool!✌♥
thanks for the great video! This helped me make a decision on getting these pickups :-)
Glad I could help!
Hola Joel. como van estos pickups? tengo un problema en mi telecaster al tocar en vivo. No puedo usar distorsion en el pickup del puente, hay un acople de ruido. con la vintage stack esto se soluciona? lo haz probado?.... gracias!
Hey Jonathan! Question. I installed mine and the output seems really really low. Sounds like clean tone up to like 5 on the gain and the volume seems low too. I installed them myself...is there any troubleshooting I can do or do these symptoms sound like anything you've experienced before with self installs of pickups?
I can’t help you.. maybe send the guitar to a guitar luthier at your location?
You're awesome, I am subscribing.
Thank you ✌️❤️Welcome aboard!
Awesome playing
Thank you Mitch 😄✌
Sir, you play beautifully. You’re so melodic.
Thank you very much!✌🤓
Love the sound best I heard from a tele in my opinion
Thank you!
Good Vid Jon! I have a MIJ Fender Telecaster ‘70’s Reissue in Mary Kay Blond with Maple Neck and have been using that SD pickup for some time now and I just Love them! I HATE 60cycle Hum LOL! In fact I just replaced the Gibson P90s on my Gibson LP with a set of SD Classic Stacked P90s which come from the same series of pickups and also Love those!! Thanks for the Great Demo and Review please keep them coming!! Have a Great Day man!!
Awesome Rick!!!! I never had a leaning towards the P90s... Dunno why...lol
you are awesome dude!
thank you✌💙
You sold me on these Jonathon 😏. Just got them finished up tonight along with 500k pots and .33 cap. Will get to hear it tomorrow after I swap out the old input jack, can't wait to play it 😃!
Cool ✌️❤️
SoundsGreat!
I selected Seymour Duncan STK-T1n Vintage Stack in the neck and Dimarzio Area Hot T Bridge DP421BK...
Nice choice✌️❤️
@@JonIsJustTooLoud Thanks! It sounds delightful as Yours does! Cheers! Love me some Tele's
Those pickups sound killer.
✌️❤️
Wow! How have I not seen this before? I don't know if it has a "traditional" telecaster sound or not, but it don't care. It sounds amazing! Especially the sort "mid-gain" sound at the 2 minute mark.
✌️❤️
@@JonIsJustTooLoud Any chance of getting you to demo some DiMarzio pickups? I can't seem to find many good demos of them. I'm looking for something noiseless and single-coil sized for the neck/mid on my HSS RG560 if you have any recommendations. I was looking at the Fast Track 1 or The Chopper if you have any experience with those.
Cheers!
Don't forget that the thing that makes a telecaster sound like a telecaster most is the bridge design.
@@mrcoatsworth429 These definitely retain that bridge sound! Without any hum.
😊
Came for the pickup comparisons, but I loved the great guitar playing too! :-)
Thank you Adrian.. subscribe to the channel to you haven’t! ✌️❤️
Thanks for doing this review. I used to have the Little 59 bridge matched with the STK-T1N neck, but I find the bridge pickup way too dark. So I switched to the STK-T3B in the bridge and now I have a well balanced am tele performer in the new penny color.
Thanks for sharing!
I made that same bridge pickup change. Liked the Little '59, had it split but still wanted more traditional tele tone
Oof, that were some nasty tones man! Loved the video :D
Thanks man✌️❤️
@@JonIsJustTooLoud What amp/cab were you playing through? :)
Thank you so much!✌🤓
You sound great!
Thank you so much!✌🤓
Great demo! I just got a set of these pickups...looking forward to putting them into my 2002 Fender Japan Paisley Telecaster!
The Guitar Channel cool ✌️❤️
Love it
Thank you✌️❤️
Nice sounding pickups! I have the Little 59 in my bridge. These are much better. Good Job!
Thanks Mark!! These are pretty sweet sounding...just a bit too tame for me though 😀✌
Think the" hum and howl "are part of the charm.I had purchased a MiM Strat used that played beautifully, sounded great unplugged, but was sadly lacking amplified. When I opened it up, someone had put higher end noiseless in as replacements.Once I had the original Alnico's back in, it was perfect.
Nice playing, though.
nice!!! Thank you Mark✌♥
Massive sounds, wish I could play like that… I consider this pickup for my upgrade. Newbie’s here
Go for it✌️❤️
There is just something about the neck pickup of a telecaster. To me, it is one of the best Fender sounds.
✌♥
sounds like that axe has perfect intonation
✌♥
I dunno if it souds like tele or what I keep hearing the twang but I can't tell really. That guitar has it's own identity, nice one!
it sunds like a tele
Absolutely sounds like a Tele that's played very well! Great sounding guitar.
The Tele sound, possible squeal and microphonics comes from the steel bridge plate in proximity to the bridge pickup. Change that to stainless or brass and the sound and feel is affected a good bit. It will be more mellow with a non ferrous bridge plate.
hey jon! i have a seymour
hot rail in my tele bridge. im looking for a tele single coil to put in the neck position that will cooperate well with the hot rail. any chance you have any suggestions?
That sounds fine to me✌️❤️
Great sounding pickups. Now if only I could buy those skills.
I wonder how they compare the Fender's own noiseless pickups.
They sound different from each other
Hola Jonathan! Gracias por el Vídeo está genial, saludos desde Chile! Una pregunta ¿El circuito es con dos potenciometros de 250k o pusiste un push pull? Un abrazo. 🤘🤘🤘
¡Lo siento! Realmente no lo se. La instalación fue realizada por mi luthier.🤓✌
Hi Jonathan, impressive playing. What gauge and type of strings are you using to match these pickups? It influences a lot the tone. I am a newbie and just changed mine to 9 nickel wound and they are extremely bright (Too much for my taste) but with the same pickups, it seems I have another guitar
Thank you Elisabet! I use 10s ... Join us in the live stream later!!✌♥
Love it. Thank you! I love my Tele's Lil 59's in the bridge, how do you think the Vintage Stack Neck p/u paired with it would be?
I think it would be really interesting! More tone options if you can coil split the Lil 59s!! :)
@@JonIsJustTooLoud YES! Thank you.
Question: what pots and caps did you install with these pickups? Thanks
all stock...no change🤓✌
Pickups sound great indeed, but your Helix patches are spot on too ! Are your patches available for download ? Thanks !
No they are not.. sorry.. but you can head on down to my HX stomp review and download some presets.. I think✌️❤️
Wow! No more cycle hum, and retains the twang! Is the output greater than the stock pickups?
Yes...I was quite impressed!! :)
Hello Jonathan, where in singapore did your colleague buy the pickups? I was looking as well but there is no stock in david's guitar shop
Yes these are available from Davis✌️❤️
Question: did you have to change the pots from 250k to 500k or did you leave them at 250k?
Hi Shannon! you know what? I forgot! the guitar does not belong to me..so I cant check✌❤
Trying to find new pickups for my tele knock off. Been tossing between these and the vintage broadcaster. Kind of feel the broadcaster is a little more bluesy but these are better all around. Maybe I need another tele so I can have one set up each way :-p
Lol... Yes.. I told my wife exactly the same thing when I got my latest Tele!!
Great, thank you!! do you think it will work for Danny Gatton style of country playing?
Sure.. I don’t see why not✌️❤️
@@JonIsJustTooLoud thank you! it's all in the fingers)
A few questions about these pickups, if you don't mind.
How do they compare to stock TL-52 single coils? Do they twang? You said that they're low output pickups, how bright they are?
They are close...maybe just a bit less twang...but they're noiseless! ✌🤓
@@JonIsJustTooLoud thanks :)
Hi jonathan, Im planning the same thing on my TL-72. Looks like this is a good replacement pickups. Hope my pots and capacitors were the same model of that telecaster... Thank you!
Sounds great!
@@JonIsJustTooLoud Hi Jonathan, for this pickups. There is no modification in the wirings? Just swapped the pickups as per normal right? Thanks!
@Shelo08 K I should think so.. sorry I don’t do the swap, it was done by my friend Wayne ✌️❤️
@@JonIsJustTooLoud no worries, thank you!
Thank you
✌🤓
By the way, do you have a Tele Pick up review for the Seymour Duncan Vintage Stack Noiseless Tele Set
?
Sorry no..✌♥
@@JonIsJustTooLoud All right. Thanks! I just bought a Squier by Fender Telecaster Affinity series few months ago. I want to change the stock pickups. What Seymour Duncan tele pickups would you recommend? I play alternative rock, math rock, punk and ambient sound.
Great video and stellar playing. So much more of guitar than a "twanger" right?
Yep ✌️❤️
Thanks for posting, do you have to change the pots when replacing with a stacked pickup?
I dont think so...✌💚
Do you have to? No. Will work with either 250k-500k and everything in between.
What was the gear that got that tone? Awesome.
Line 6 Helix Native
Hi Jona for you, Seymour duncan Hot Tele or Seymour Duncan Vintage Stack?
The hot Tele ..✌️❤️
Great sound. To my ears, however, the bridge pickup seems to have much more output than the neck. Did someone else notice the same ? Or is it the traditional way a tele should work ?
✌️❤️
Most bridge pickups are a bit more than neck pickups in almost every guitar.
I don't seem to have an of that 60 cycle hum with mine that everyone talks about. I know I had it years ago with my old Strat and a cheap amp, but not with this setup. I am using an odd brand of amp (IQ sound 3012, about 300 watts so it's plenty loud!) So maybe it's my amp?
Ya maybe.. ✌️❤️
hot stack bridgeとvintage stack neckの組み合わせはやったことありますか?
あったらハーフトーンの感想を教えてほしいです!
No not yet
great to see you again, compare to Hot Tele, what do u think !!!!
+Zen Lian hi!!! Like i said in the video, the pickup has a lower output compared to the hot Tele set but then again you can always crank them up with no worries of hum. But in terms of tones, i still prefer the hot tele although the vintage stack has its own merits if you want something a little bit more traditional sounding. ✌️✌️
@@JonIsJustTooLoud thanks johnathan, u r my fav guitarist and resourceful !!!
Did u have 250k or 500k pots ?
i'm not really sure...guitar belongs to a friend of mine. Could have been a 250k✌🤓
Do you prefer the SD vintage stack over the hot pups in your HB black paisley?
Not really..I kinda like what I have in that black paisley 🤓✌️
What are you playing true as amp
Hi Wayne...I'm using the Line6 Helix Native 🤓✌
Think a Tele sounds like someone singing and overall is more versatile. Having said that I love❤both my Tele’s and Strat’s. Depends what style of music you’re are playing.
true!
With tele pickups, always nice to hear the clean tone. Dirt can mask some of the true tone
Agreed! Please watch the rest of the video
500k pots or 250k?
Not too sure.. guitar is not with me

I'm not saying it is a bad sound, but I am saying that these humbuckers (yes, that is what they are) will quite deprive a Telecaster of its true single coil sound.
The question is, is that worth it to you ?
Are you really bothered with the 60 cycle hum ?
If the answer is yes, go for it.
If not, stick with the classics.
✌️❤️
the sound of the tele comes from the bridge pickup being mounted directly to the steel bridge
myth. Teles with no metal bridge sound identical.
is it just me or did u played MIDWEST EMO for a moment? did my hearing deceive me?
anyway cool demo!
lol!! beats me
must be similar chords used in this genre, haha@@JonIsJustTooLoud
Vintage Stack looks to be 18k while Hot Bridge is 16k.
✌️❤️
Careful with that coffee mate !
Thanks!
