@@ilumijaxxi Same. Was literally thinking, "Fuck! So many people are going to be upping their drum programming game, massively, from this shit!!" These are life skills for any producer!! Amazing stuff.
Great for some interesting trap hats. Actually, all the techniques I’ve gotten out of NR’s channel have been crazy useful for making unique sounding material when applied to genres outside of the breakcore/glitch/idm stuff in which they seem to be created from. I’m sure that’s the intention here, but I really hope producers outside of the sonic landscape these videos inhabit are still taking note of all the clever, outside the box techniques since they’re all applicable in so many ways. Even if the video mentions one or another genre, this dude is like an encyclopedia of countless approaches to doing so many things in Ableton. I’m not really a break producer and it’s my favorite channel on Ableton on all of TH-cam!
I forgot to come back and thank you for this one. Dude. I had missed the DS modules, but never again! The ones you can just drop a sample on are especially fun, but I played with all of them, made something incredibly random, then again 3 or 4 more times...and turned the result into a song [link removed by me]. Not entirely done yet, still mixing it down and already it's better than presented-- so close to done, letting it rest-- but that version is whole and gives the right idea. In any case, thank you so much, again. There's so much to explore in Ableton, I can get stuck just playing with the same toys over and over. I love it when someone successfully points me to an area I was ignoring. I love simple tools used in complex ways. The DS tools are perfect in that way. Cheers.
unreal video. I did the whole thing start to finish and became familiar with a bunch of midi transform tools I wasn't aware of at the beginning. Thanks!
Ace video yet again - I feel like the new MIDI effects/modulators landed in Live 11 with basically no fanfare whatsoever, which is mad, they're amazing
Incredible tutorial, mate. I've been using this program for near on 13 years and had no idea you could make such crazy and complex sounds in just under 30 minutes!
This feels like a total cheat code that you’ve unleashed here. Tried this today with fantastic results in under 20 minutes. Totally not what I normally do, but really sparks some ideas. Thanks!
discovered this channel when searching for a tutorial on operator drums, which turned out to be one of the funniest and most helpful tutorial ive seen. so glad youre still making amazing video. i am an animator and i usually rely on javascript expressions to add modular chaos to my compositions, so this kind of thing is just what my music needs. thanks!!!
glad i found your channel. Most useful ableton tutorials I've seen in a hot minute. Already adding spice to my tracks. Might have to check out your patreon. Keep it coming man.
This is great, I can play this live with my pads in experimental jams, I'm gonna set up similar and add it to my hybrid drum setup. Thank you for expanding my mind!!!!
ok you got me - i ordered your cassette and since literally each of your tutorials is like a fucking HEUREKA ableton moment for me, i'm gonna let you have my money.. pateron membership here we go
Thanks for the tips - really special tutorial! I am using Cubase though - does anyone know if there is a VST that can do something similar to the Expression control max for live plugin.
I’m really interested in seeing the limiting on your master bus, the loudness is superb yet it never goes above -6db, even with all the crushing of the OTT and Drum Buss, sounds clear and rich!
What a thrill, thanks for this. Your videos are always such a joy. Anyway, I had to buy a friend two beers because we bet on if/how you would deal with the Echo airtime. I was certain you’d rhythmically bring it in and out with an additional beat-time synced lfo. Cheers
hi ned, i've just started to use ableton on youtube and its turning out well so thanks for your advice from: tunesmusic_ age 8:)
age 8?!?!!?! keep having fun with music

i support any ned rush complex drum programming video on general principle. this is a pre emptive trust-like, ned
It's incredible how versatile Ableton is with all of its "hidden" features. These are some really fantastic tips, thank you for sharing!

Serious, sensible work by the master from the Isles, again.
