hey, this is super impressive! and very smart. thank you very much. i used to think that 16-step (or at least 8) is minimum but you shattered my delusions. well, each day you learn something...
That's a really interesting approach- limiting yourself to just 4 steps (I often use all 64 steps- because they are there!)- for a moment I thought you were going to write a piece using 4 patterns. I like your choice of sounds- keeping well within a techno sound pallet. There's a lot of pre sets on the Model Cycles that sound a bit toy like, so, as you show, it's important to choose wisely and to make your own patches, too.
@@tweakmygroovebox608 yes limiting your self often comes with new ideas, that is a cool thing and often hard to pursue. And the „toy sound“-dilemma is real :D I think you can avoid the toy-iness by using a fast LFO to modulate the sound
@@Frisqo thank you so much You play so well on this machine , one more question I want to ask is , is it a drum machine (like Maschine + , but less modern) and why is it called fm
@@rahulkothari1563 In comparison to Maschine+, the Cycles is way more simple, has no samples, but can do drums, percussion, melodies etc. FM stands for Frequency Modulation (synthesis), which means the Cycles is 100% a synthesizer
@@Frisqo I need a suggestion from you , I play flute and other instruments and the. I want good beats like techno and trance So model cycles is enough or should I buy maschine +

So cool, really like this limitation. Like you said using the conditions gives you extra room for variations!
That trance bass preset sounds juicy! Would love to know what the settings are.
You have really mastered the cycles.
Thanks very much 🖤
Thanks a lot !
Learned a lot. Thanks
nice tut!!! Thanks!
It inspired me!
C'est intéressant, je connais la machine mais il me manque des éléments je n'ai pas le manuel en français si quelqu'un pouvait m'aider
Is it standalone and can I use it as slave with boss rc 505 loop station ??
Yes it’s standalone, MIDI works very well with the 505

What are the benefits of 4 steps over 16? Patterns appear to mutate much quicker with this approach.
The benefits of 4 (or 8) steps instead of 16 is the focus on a simple yet effective groove or melody.
