Just got a new top loader, my LG front loader crapped out after 7 years. Didn't want to but an LG, but they are the highest rated by CR. Hopefully this one lasts longer. At least I got it on sale. Same washer is $150 more today.
Sorry to hear that your front load LG only lasted 7 years - that's well below the expected lifespan of an LG front loader. Sadly the top loaders (being only sold in this market - no other country allows the use of such poor performing, slow-spinning, energy-wasting washers) tend not to last nearly as long - they have no way of redistributing the clothes for the spin cycle (without adding 50 gallons of water and then dumping it again lmao) so they beat themselves up a lot more.

Our machine works great!
One problemo though.
There are two gray plastic brackets on the back, on the top left and right corners. One can be seen at 0:44.
In our house, one of those intersects with a water pipe and prevents us from pushing washer all the way back, which prevents us from closing the laundry closet door.
Is it okay to remove these brackets?

There are two small plastic plugs on the water inlets for the washing machine. One is blue and the other red. We assumed these should be removed before connecting the water hoses. The video shows them still in place. Should these not have been removed?
They're not plugs. They're screens to help filter big particles out of the water

Do I have to use the hot water connection or can I just connect the cold water inlet?

Can I trim my drain hose shorter if it is too long?
My stand pipe is directly above where my lg drain hose comes out of the machine, 40inches from the floor.
The drain hose about 5ft long is not flexible enough to bend to the other side and back to the drain pipe...
Hello! The drain hose is designed to be flexible, allowing you to extend, shorten, fold, or unfold it as needed. You have the freedom to adjust it according to your needs. ^Gaby
Washers can be damaged by some thing and connect holes to get your machine some water and lg can do terrbo wash

Still get OE error no matter what. I have to put the hose on the ground and run it out the door otherwise it simply will not drain.

Why waa the hose raised instead of down rhe floor straight into the drainage so that the water could be fully drained from tbe washing machine?
Many hookups are in the wall a few feet above the ground *shrug*

I have a 7kg one and it is not connected to hot water!! The techie said no need to connect hot water..does that mean for past 8 years it was doing cold wash even when i was selecting temp?
This is late, but it depends on your washing machine. Some only use cold water but heat up the water if you are choosing a hot temperature wash.
My lg olso does that i choose hot water but it is cold. The solution was i should put less clothes . And it works. Do not fill all the machine with clothes.
The moron who installed my previous machine had cold and hot reversed. This world is filled with morons.

It’s not the elbow that prevents the mold/bacteria, it’s the dept of the hose going into the wall pipe that makes or more or less susceptible to coming into contact with it. I never thought about this until watching this vid

How do you replace the drain hose on this model?
Beats me, it is inside the machine and 3 of the 5 feet are vertical, their machines must be within 1 foot on the drain. It will take weeks to install their machine because of this HUGE flaw.
Why the LG washer doesn't have metal covering plate at the underneath bottom of the machine? It will collect dirt and debris from the floor. Thanks.

It's absolutely ridiculous how you don't mention to remove the 4 transit bolts in this video, which could supposedly void your warranty if you run it without them removed. All you say is to "Make sure washer is completely unpacked and all shipping materials removed," and that's it? This is an official LG washer installation video, is it not? What is wrong with you people? Why go into such detail about a drain hose and spend 75% of your video focused on that and not even mention the transit bolts once? That's literally the most important thing and it's not mentioned. There should be a class action lawsuit against LG for this. You're basically just hoping that consumers void their warranties on your cheaply made machines so that you're not held liable for any issues in the future. What a dishonest company, but I guess this is the world we live in now. Anything to make an easy dollar. Wow.
I was looking through the comments to see if I could find any info on those bolts since the single piece of paper that came with the one I'm installing mentions to take them out but the picture isn't clear about what they are talking about!!! I'm installing a used one and not sure where the bolts even are or why they would do such a crazy thing. WTF?

THIS VIDEO DOESN'T TELL YOU TO TAKE OUT THE TRANSIT BOLTS. THE MOST IMPORTANT PART. There are 4 bolts in back that need to be removed or your washer will vibrate like crazy and it can damage the washer.
Hey there! We appreciate this notation! The transit bolts should be removed should be included when the video states that shipping materials need to be taken out (0:14). At 0:20 in the video, the transit bolt-hole covers are shown to be put back on for a clean finish. We hope this information helps out! ~ Jupe
@@LGUSASupport As someone who watched the video while installing, it glosses over it way too quickly. It doesn't even mention the bolts, just shows a quick one second shot of the back of the washer with the covers. No one is gonna know what that means without context. It's especially egregious when in the video it takes its time to show you tightening the hoses.

shame on you lg just for longer drain hose need open entire machine front and back your engineering department must be proud of scam your consumer right ???
No blue hose, both are black but labeled, the video is a fraud from LG. I replaced both but the discharge hose is only 2 feet from the top of the machine. Extremely poor design, expect to to take weeks to get a proper extension hose. This drainage hose shown is at least twice as long as their machines actually are.
The drain hose should be longer than 4.25". Ridiculous to have to replace the hose bc the standard hose is too short.
Did you replace hose ? Or did you add extension ?
I think you mean feet not inches. Mine goes three up and leaving you two to get to a drain, very dumb! I am ready to return it over their crappy drainage tube.
