One more thing to consider when we say 'market leader' is to consider the actual number of scooters sold. They sold approximately 3 lakh scooters last year whereas the overall annual two-wheeler sales in India (not just electric) are 1.5-2 Crore. At best they have captured 2% of the overall two-wheeler market. And the total number of two wheelers on-road is around 25 Crore. They have a huge, huge market yet to capture. And it's very easy for the overall market leaders like Bajaj, TVS, Hero or Honda to come in and become the new electric two-wheeler market leader in a span of 1-2 years.
TVS and Bajaj have been in the market for years now. After govt cut subsidy these two increased prices while Ola cut prices. Clearly the incumbents are not able to crack EVs IMO
@@koushikvss7638 Yeah that does happen quite often, and historically we have seen huge companies fall when they failed to keep up with current technology.
It's just that the 2% overall market share of the current market leader means that window of opportunity is still open for others, and given the kind of resources they have (workforce, factories, supplier network, consumer image), they can scale much faster than Ola in the electric two wheeler segment - provided they design a decent product in the next 1-2 years.
@@koushikvss7638 exactly. It does not depend upon how big or old the player is, it all depends on the will power of a brand to make electric vehicles
@@AS-sp3wk Yes exactly. Automotive especially electric vehicles is a supply chain & manufacturing business. Outcomes solely depend on execution, not the brands or resources. Ola built a scooter factory from scratch in 6 months, during the second wave of Covid, Bajaj said they spent two years "securing" the supply chain. Sure, Ola acquired a EV company in the EU, sure, Ola scooters especially the first 100 had lots of issues, but the point remains - Ola is better at executing & bringing EVs to market. Capital is still a challenge for Ola given they are constantly integrating some part of the supply chain, but I hope Ola succeeds, I am just impressed by all round execution
Thats a future factory,they are planning it for future demand. Right now demand is little low but in future it will scale multiple times so production will increase the same way.

Finshots , "should you invest in Ola IPO ..." analysis was not done at all , it was just narration of what is known in public. Expected a better analytical video with suggestions short term , long term, pros and cons etc.

I personally see bad 7:26 management issue in ola. As its just started operations 3 years back it will take time to settle such issue. However R&D is not that promising as ola has reliability issues that need to be addressed first. They are currently only tinkering with the tech they got from etergo.

Ola has a R&D and manufacturing of battery cell that no company in India is planning to do. And she spoke nothing about it.

Can someone explain if its fresh issue and money goes to company then how come its bhavesh will be benefited ? and if Bhavesh is tendering his shares then should't that come in OFS category instead of fresh issue ?
It's partial fresh issue and rest is offer for sale. It's both.

A rough guess. It will take at least 100 years + to earn this Ipo amount of 6000 crores.
After 20 years the company will do a forward integration project to find mass graving technology of reducing pollution generated by lithium batteries. The government will regulate and declare the company which produces is responsible . An over-expensive affair will make the company bankrupt. EVs are beneficial for buses , trucks and trains and not for 2 wheelers.

Content is really good but ending was vauge
Poor product and a loss making numbers are two reasons why i will not invest in ola ipo. It may not be as bad as paytm but definitely comparable.
At least some sane people are there in the market. The guy who is running Bhavesh Agarwal hasn't done nothing right "Ola" no one makes money. With this IPO he and early investors will cash out while retail investors will be stuck with this for a while.
