      As far as I know, it's pretty safe.

    That's so funny, we were there filming plane take off/landing activity only two days later, on 11/30/17, and in the same spot where this take off was, which was the Greenway Observing area. (there are three total observing areas one can watch/film from.)

      I just took round trip FLL to LGA last week and they were very pleasant flights ✈️

      IMHO, they are quite suited for a quick getaway at a dirt cheap price with only a little backpack that fits under the seat. Otherwise, the price adds up and you might be better off taking one of the more legacy airlines

    Anyone else notice the flaps was still partially down after 1000 feet

    • @jayroyce9913
      @jayroyce9913 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Designated Truth he probably wanted to climb as fast as possible therefore using full throttle the flaps helped it not overspeed

    • @emtpilot132
      @emtpilot132 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Flaps are retracted at certain speeds instead of altitude. While there is a "flap retraction altitude" of 1,000 feet, that is actually a minimum. Typically the airbus can get up to two or three thousand feet before they've accelerated above 'S' speed at which point the flaps and slats are stowed.

    • @puma.will.pounce7590
      @puma.will.pounce7590 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Flaps have nothing to do with altitude. They are retracted/extended based on a speed schedule measured in indicated air speed (IAS).

      @puma.will.pounce7590 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@riggerparish - My response was the correct one. You obviously know nothing about flying commercial jets to think that flaps must be retracted by 1,000 feet.
      Some heavy widebodies won't completely retract their flaps/slats until well above 5,000 feet if they're near MTOW on a long haul transoceanic flight.

      @puma.will.pounce7590 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jayroyce9913 - Flaps are NOT used to help climb faster. If he wanted to climb as fast as possible, he would simply climb at a steeper angle (pitch), which would also avoid overspeed.

      Spirit airlines is the greyhound bus of the skies. Worst flight I ever had was with them . One time and never again

    • @spotter3sixty
      @spotter3sixty  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      So sad to hear that....I always say that they really are more a niche airline than mainstream; one has to know when to fly them and when to fly a more premium airline.
