Watched a guy do this to his own house years ago, but he didn't have the $$ to hire it out. The guy and a few friends dug each corner of the home out to 8 ft. (was a crawl) and supported the place on 6x6 timbers. Poured a proper footing and a week later installed block on each corner. (one corner per weekend) That part took another 2 months and a LOT of beer / pizza. At the 6 month mark they had closed in the other walls, except for what would become a Bilco door, which was left as a ramp because they were hand digging to make a full basement. Somewhere around the 9 month mark they poured a pad area for the furnace and well tank. They continued to dig intermittently over the winter and finally poured the floor about a year after starting. Recalling at the start they jig rigged all the plumbing on rubber hoses and bungee cords so they could jack the place level and raise it 6 inches to work. They even connected the sewer line with a section of tire tube so the guy could live in the house the whole time. Not a big house... maybe 1400 sq ft.
I know of a House that someone jacked up to make a basement and had supports on the four corners and the house fell into the hole. No one was hurt but the house was eventually torn down.
Anywhere between $30,000 to $50,000 is about average. It depends on how complex, large, full or partial, etc. It's not cheap but will save the $150,000+ sitting on top of it. It is not something you want to try yourself especially if it is the whole foundation being replaced. Make sure you research the company and they are legit professionals.
Haha, good one jess. It is pricey, and we are terrible about responding to comments on youtube. If you want info it's definitely better to call or email us. A full foundation replacement can be very expensive. You can spend $50k pretty quick. But yes, it does depend on the size of the job and how difficult it is.
Wow.. i need this now.. damn Oak trees.. just cut up like 30feet of roots with chainsaw and dug up , by hand on 1 side of my home! Then added drain pipes to run water away from home. I know this cost over $10,000 to do.
Lisa, yes, foundation jobs are where we get the most return on investment in all honesty. But by pouring a new foundation and the partial dig out, we are completely changing the environment under homes from damp, tight spaces that smell of mildew and compromise the structural longevity of the home above. Sometimes people look at the price, get a few bids and decide to tear it down baby! But many times, these homes hold sentimental value and we want to help Oregonians and our Washington neighbors preserve their homes for many many decades to come. Pro Tip: There are some great 0% interest if paid in full unsecured finance options out there!
A common suggestion, while we do like the country dirt road-feel good vibe, we appreciate the feedback and will be making some changes to our upcoming videos. Thank you!
I just bought a fixer with foundation problems and this is exactly the cure I'm looking for. Can you guys come to the Bay Area in CA? I would love to speak with you. Please message me.
I think this is what they would have to do with my house sadly :( i hear my wallet sobbing. It's an old ww 1 or 2 house that was moved to where it is now and only has brick pylons underneath with stucco on the outside.
Do you live in the area? We’d be happy to come provide a free on-site assessment for you! Additionally, it’s always a good idea to get at least 3-4 quality bids for these jobs. We do negotiate at times but our prices tend to be lower than our big name competitors and higher than new contractors with less experience. Pro Tip: Don’t fall prey to shady sales techniques that rely on fear and immediate signatures. Always get at least a second opinion to protect your wallet from being taken advantage of!
You don’t like my banjo playing? 🤣 No in all seriousness I know, we have heard you and will update accordingly. Feel feee to come check out our upcoming videos and let us know how we did!

Americans love to put trees next to house. I don't know why?
WOW fixing the foundation probably cost as much as that small house was worth.

How was this temp supported? Just the girders holding the house up?
How much did that job cost? Just out of curiosity. Thanks in advance!
That is a nice job !! 👏 👌 👍 professional
Thank you! Cheers!
You should loose the music. TH-cam viewers much prefer natural sounds over music, especially if your trying to explain something.
You are definitely correct. I am trying to watch this in spite of the loud unnecessary music. The video itself is good!

How much did this cost?
somewhere around $55k. Foundation work is spendy, but if the foundation isn't right, then everything else will eventually fail.
