The thumbnail looked weird so I ALMOST didn't click. Glad I did. Great work.

As I often tell people on the r/luthier subReddit, “Something’s are better left alone, as your attempt to “repair” them has a high probability of creating a bigger mess.” Now, you have much more experience than I do, but I started to cringe when I saw that first big bubble of superglue float on top of the ebony dust vs immediately soaking in. Nice recovery, though!
You’ve really come a long way with that D35. It’s going to be such a cool player, when you finish up. Thanks for taking us along for the ride. Happy new year!

You have good reason to let it sit. I bought a new guitar and shaved the saddle down to 4/64ths on the bass side and it played wonderful for a week or so then started sinking. I purchased another one and got it to 4/64ths and I will have to see. I was actually trying for 5/64ths but went too far.

Damn… it’s like when people have used their finger and touched a moving table saw blade.

I wonder if CA remover would’ve been something to use

Looking good, nice job. I'm not as picky as some folks, anytime you are under 100 thousands, that is good action to me. I shoot for 90 at the bass, 80 at the treble. If the action is any lower (to me) it causes too much buzzing or sounds horrible if you play something aggressively. Also no matter how low you get the action, the guitar is not going to play itself.

True. The setup is really about what and how you’re going to be playing on it. I like it as low and flat as possible. It’s a balancing act. Thanks for the comment!

So how does it sound? Sometimes mistakes end up working better than what was intended.

Epic fingerboard grunge. Hope you charge double time for that bio-hazard step in the process. Guitar sounds pretty good strung up.

LOL, yeah enough DNA to make a clone.

I didn’t ask him if he wanted it removed, but it would have been silly to leave it everywhere but 2 frets when I stripped it clean at the body joint. Well it’s nice and clean now, and is sounding good too.

@@vindustrialguitars, now I'm wondering if anybody has ever done e. coli swabs of guitar necks. For Science! Lots of people on the web asking about using anti-bacterial wipes on their fingerboards evidently. Wouldn't it be easier to just wash your hands before you play? But then I'm on the anal-Germanic (Dutch) end of the hygiene spectrum. Ha.

    Plot thickens!
I guess the super glue /ebony thickened too!
A piece of sponge soaked in acetone and placed on the disaster will dissolve the hardened material rather quickly! wipe it off and then one can begin again.

Just found your channel, great work! SUBBED! Really good saddle job, learned me a bit there thanks. Just a tip, they make a little Japanese saw just for those bound fret slots.
