My father used to get so frustrated when the people arround him would do things a bit differently than the way he precived as the right way, one day I asked him ,after he had just lit into me, what kind of world would we have if everyone thought like a mechanic or a baker or even a doctor. But only like one not all?!? We would be in sad shape! We need the different points of view to advance, and thrive. I have to agree when you realize some one is not built to fulfill the role of the person you had in mind and you are responsible for their development and care, and you still insist on pushing them into the mold they don't fit, that is defiantly abuse, neglect and the very least. To not let some one develop their natural talents is absolutely neglect and borderline abuse.
@@theabsentmindedprofessor8357 There was more going on, Mom stuff, I just touched on the easier to discuss, nothing illegal, or embarrassing etc. To choose to die rather then go back suggests? My sister for example, did not survive. A bit like McCandless in the ‘Into the Wild’ story. Same age as me same area I know the bus knew the people in that area. Know details…. so a bit common to head for the wilds as an escape? However along the way making some positive discoveries (hopefully) McCandless never did. But others make it, do well, survive and even prosper. I got back close tro Mom later in life, understanding her own pain. took care of her in her old age.
Short reply is yes. Did he forgive me? I only think so. I heard stories of how Dad and mom were raised and much was a horror story. They had serious baggage themselves. How can I blame them? They did the best they could with what they had . I stopped being angry, However forgive, and trust and love is not the same. I am a product of how i was raised, so I have no regrets.
I did say I helped raise two children with a woman for 4 years. Got married had a son, got left. I have a blocked memory of it. Now been with a woman 15 years, we’ll stay together. Two socially troubled people managing. I live for my work maybe, define who I am by what I do.
