  • This is a turn-by-turn tutorial on how I navigate Summit Point Main course. We will stop at each of the turns and discuss corner entry, turn in, speeds, exit, and other points of interest.
The car used in this video is a 2005 Honda S2000 setup for NASA's TT5 class. It weight around 3,000lbs with the driver and makes 214RWHP and is 225/40/17 Hoosier R7 tires. The points from this video should be applicable to most cars. More information about this particular build can be found at : www.s2ki.com/f...
Hopefully you find this tutorial valuable in learning to navigate Summit Point!

This is one of the best SP track tutorials I've seen. Mentioning runoff and escape routes is an excellent part of the video, and should be part of everyones' evaluation of a track video.

This is a great video, especially stopping at each turn and the complete lap at the end. One of the best tutorials I've seen for Summit Point main circuit.

Many of us are waiting for a turn by turn video like this of VIR. It's OK if you haven't turned in a VIR lap at the hypothetical limit. I think the fact you hold the TT5 lap record at VIR is enough credence. But, that's just me. As an instructor I would find such a video to be a huge aid for the more advanced students as well as myself!

Great video. Like the way you edited it as I am a very visual learner and needs to see thing before it makes sense.

Very nice, well done. I first did Summit Point "Main" in my Volvo V70R manual and tore up a bunch of surprised folks at a FATT.
Have had my share of issues there with my S2000's but still learning. When I grow up I wanna graduate to getting all my gear synced like that with data on video and Racepak data, but just getting started!

Hey nice video. You are a great driver. Thanks for the driving tips! I have an S2K but have not had it at the track yet. I do race a motorcycle in 600cc Super Sport there though. You are faster. Btw you are very articulate and well spoken. Thanks for that.

I have raced Summit many many times. My best lap time was 1:20. Now the best part. I ran that in an enduro go kart powered by a Honda 125 CR engine. I have race at Pocono, Watkins Glen. Charlotte, Rockingham and Bryar Motorsport, Now called new Hampshire International.

Agree with everything EVERYTHING you said! I've raced Summit MANY times. GREAT VID!! Just ONE question: Why do you have a rear spoiler on a FWD car? Wouldn't more rear rotation be welcomed, since FWD cars push and do not rotate well.
