Hey, notching those doors was a very nice idea for those of us that may not be vested in the idea of finding smaller doors and matching them to the cabinets, etc. Thank you for sharing.
First time I've seen someone make a solid "floor" bracket for the sink. Genius! I'm having trouble finding someone to build mine and this makes it looks so easy.
Great job! Finished project looks amazing. I am doing the same thing except for the side supports, I doubled up my plywood (on a kitchen renovation there are always lots of off cuts and measure once, cut twice pieces left over. LOL). You saved quite a bit with all your work.
Started watching this video because today I installed a farm sink into a very expensive custom welborn sink base it had no apron around it I had to cut the front of the cabinet at an angle because the sink was tapered and had no front apron on. cut to the inside of my lines and finished it by hand with a file and a rasp. While the other two guys on the job too chicken to cut it and the homeowner stood behind me turned out perfect hope I never have to do it again
Looks good Rick ! Im currently doing the farm style sink in my kitchen.i was going to use 2x4's because mine was close to 300lbs 😂😆 I have 3/4 plywood, but am worried it's not strong enough.also I was 🤔💬 thinking about using great foam on sides any thoughts.? Thanks 👍
Notching the doors is a huge corner cut. Most of the time we RIP the doors to the proper length and dutch them back together. Sand and finish the door correctly and you would not even know. Notching the doors looks cheap and DIY
Great job of installing the new sink. Awful job on the cabinet doors! Should have checked out the youtubes fix for correctly cutting the doors to correct size. That really needs to be redone. Painting the cabinets white, too would make your kitchen pop.
totally agree, when he goes to sell the house any smart buyer will have a huge problem with it. Also when you see a hack job like that on something like the doors it makes you wander what other corners have been DIY'd that either wont't pass inspection or just functions poorly.
I'm not sure what he did but what I recently did was set it even with the top of the cabinets but not permanently glued in and installed this way after the countertop if it needs to be raised up I can shim under it and permanently install it
Ok, where is the air gap for the dishwasher ? I noticed on some trough sinks there is no extra hole for the dishwasher air gap. Do you just not use an air gap and hope dirty water doesn't back up into the dishwasher ?
Remove plumbing, strap from stick across drain to 2x across countertop to keep sink from falling, remove support for sink, cut caulking from bottom of countertop to top of sink. Sink should separate from countertop.
I liked the beard, no beard part. Haha Great tip on the shelf idea. I'm doing mine in a couple weeks with a concrete countertop. Will be using your idea.
well that is just frickin fabulous. Love the video and super good information. i ave the situation with the cabinet doors and was wondering how to solve that. Well nitching the doors is brilliant! thank you

Always trust a craftsman in a Hornady hat! Much appreciated sir! I will be using this video as reference for my kitchen!
Gosh... Mandy Patinkin is a multi talented man.

I did it to my kitchen last year, gotta have little brain and good tools. I can do it for ya😜
What a wonderful video!! And absolutely well done prep inside the cabinet before setting the sink in position.
The sink glide is awesome!
Holy crap! The worlds strongest cabinet maker. He just lifted a 400 LB sink! With one hand. Cool. :)
i know. i installed a 150lb cast iron kohler and its a beast, i had nephew help put it in
That bracket was genius! Definitely going to put in my new cabinets before installing the sink. Great video!
Thanks for the video! Sink installed the Rick W way today!
This was extremely informative. Thank you for sharing this.
Looks great! Thanks for the tips!!
Great job, looks amazing!!! I want that exact look at my home but my husband is not handyman quality at all lol.
This is genius!

I liked the notched doors indea was not sure what I was going to do.
Looks great, maybe to paint the cabinet doors white will be better! And will look more clean and fresh.
That thumbnail tho 😊
Bahaha nice
Lmao
I'm confused, could you come over and install mine so I can understand a little better??? LOL

Good job!
Look great!
nice video, I'm a little concerned about moisture and mold between the sink and your support.
Silicone is not adhesive.

Good job until I saw what you did with the doors. Omg :(. Why didn't you make them smaller. It wouldn't be so noticable. It looks terrible now

Hi, good job installing the sink. Can you please tell me how you level the countertops before the quartz were installed? Thank you
I'm not sure what he did but what I recently did was set it even with the top of the cabinets but not permanently glued in and installed this way after the countertop if it needs to be raised up I can shim under it and permanently install it
How do you secure the sink to the cabinets though?

Drain for dishwasher ties into disposal. Loop of drain line from dishwasher is higher and disposal.
I think I would order new doors instead of notching??
Where buy the sink?
nice
How did you do the gaps on each side of the sink. I'm running into the same problem
Used wood from the drawer fronts that were removed. Made custom cuts to in fill.
@@rickw1717 Ok I will try that out. Thank you.
Would it be easy to replace a farm sink in the future?

Was this installed in 1999? That tile backsplash is 😳👀😳
Was finished late 2018
Can you come over to my house!!!

Awesome video. I'm following your method but I'm going to bring mine a bit above the countertop. Thanks.
Good Job!

Nice work
Great jobbbb!!
Great job brother! . Did the same thing to mine,4 get about those stupid clips or non sense straps made for lazy people😂
@5:18 who is this imposter and what did you do with the REAL Rick?!?!
Great idea. Thank you
Nice job. How many hours would you say the job took?
Excellent
what size is your sink? what size is the cabinet? Nice work!
15"x26" sink inside. 36" cabinet
Great job
Farmhouse sinks should sit “under the countertop” not flush
It is flush with the "cabinet top" not the counter. You can see he put the counter on and that it extends over the sink. He did it nicely.
Is that a Twin Otter on your t shirt ??
