I was in an office when two people did this to me. We were talking about wine and there were two people who stopped the conversation multiple times to point out that I must be offended by wine because I'm a practicing Muslim. They did this many many times, and when I tried to explain that I'm not actually offended by how they're talking about wine, they go "oh please don't try to teach me your religion" or they gave me the side eye and they go "No no! I respect your belief! it's okay! Oh no please don't be offended!" They're twice my age. Imagine being so empty inside that you feel the need to bully someone half youe age.

I haven't noticed until now but this is the first sketch where Brennan (not the CEO guy) is the butt of the joke. He's winning in the hypercompetitive sketch. He's pretty bad ass in the I come from New York sketch. He's the hero in the Basic stuff sketch.
He is not the butt of the joke here. Katie and Jess are. The sketch is making fun of toxic positivity and passive aggressive bullies. That's made crystal clear when they interrupt themselves claiming they'd never bully by engaging in classic style bullying against Raph about the dirty booty licking.
I loved this out of context compliment. But really it’s often used to describe the neighbor that might have cheated or killed his wife, right? Or is that too meta?
My favorite part. Women often use that sentence to indicate that they feel safe with a man, because they don't believe he is a rapist. Interesting that men interpret it as meaning they would never hit on a girl, and therefore see it as emasculating. Being seen as a man who isn't a rapist is NOT a slight on your manhood. That's some toxic masculinity right there, if men feel that women must feel at least a bit nervous around any 'real' man. I said it to one of my guy friends in high school. Huge guy, but very sweet. He did eventually make a move, but the instant he saw I wasn't into it, he turned that kiss attempt into a hug. He respected that I didn't feel that way and we stayed close. (positive adjective)" but instead they just end it there, like as in "you'd never do anything, you don't have a life" lmao.

Brennan is such a mindblowingly talented and funny actor and personality (and dungeon master), every single appearance he's had on college humor since his debut has been gold. What a great addition to the already talented team, u guys gotta make sure u hold on to him for a while.
True story: in high school, I took a media technologies course (learning how to produce and edit videos, music composition, etc.) For one project, we had to produce a short PSA for a contest from an anti-bullying campaign. The concept we came up with was, "What if I'm the bully?" It was shot from a first-person perspective with an internal monologue voiceover. The narrator is looking at a group of classmates, because she'd heard someone was bullying people, and she was trying to figure out who it was. There'd be a bit of monologue, then a cut to a scene involving one of the people being bullied (still shot in first-person), then a cut back to the group as that person walks away (having been proven a victim and not the bully). By the end, the entire group has left, and the camera swings around as the narrator realizes/asks the titular question. The idea being that bullies often don't even think they're doing anything wrong, but it doesn't excuse their actions, and we all need to consider our own behavior and make sure we're doing the right things. Looking back 15 years later, I'm actually still quite proud of that video. (We didn't win the contest, though.)
@@IceMetalPunk I've done a lot of youthwork mostly with teenagers and it's almost surprising how often the bully doesn't realise this. When confronted they sometimes still believe they were only joking or being funny or that it didn't bother anybody. I remember that I once had to take a different approach with one bully and agree in a private conversation that the people he bullied don't have a sense of humour and because of that he would have to chance his behaviour and be more sensitive. He was so adamant about only joking and that it was not bullying. It didn't feel right, but it worked and he stopped bullying. I guess he wasn't ready to see it and it's not easy to admit...

When we see people being cruel or evil, our first instinct is to assume they're just cruel or evil people, but that's almost never the case; usually, they think they're doing the right and good thing.
