Here’s the proof you don’t need fancy equipment to have successful reef tank,no power heads with that many corals and all doing excellent iam speechless, beautiful work.
I think giving suggestions on feeding fish it’s ok . But the guy is doing great whatever he’s doing the tank is doing fantastic and fish look healthy. If you over feed it also becomes a problem!
I would agree, the tank is beautiful. I wish my tank looked this good, recovery from listening to a friends advice..(definitely hurt my tank changing its stability).. stability is key, why change something that's clearly working for him. But we only see a snapshot right now, maybe he was asking for suggestions and they just edited that part out. We dont know.
Those older RedSea tanks have a couple of circulation pumps behind the rear wall, so there is more circulation going on than just the return pump. Beautiful system, goes to show that stability is key in this hobby. Keep up the great content Vic!
It’s normally between .04-.10. Vic just happened to come the week the GFO reactor needed to be changed. They skipped over a lot of dosing info such as the captiv8 supplements we use..
My recommendation. Red sea reefwave pumps with Mp40's dialled down with a battery back up. Reefwave Excellent for surface agitation, and as yet mine has not needing cleaning, had it 12 months nearly 😮 planning on cleaning soon. I Used to have maxpect gyres and they are pain in the but for needing cleaning all the time.
Im seeing a lot of tanks thriving in higher nutrients than you would expect. I usually keep nitrates at around 5-10ppm and lately its been 15-20 and things seem happier it may be something else though! Great video
So aptasia X will smother corals. If he turns off his tank and put aptasia X on that Xenia that has the potential to take over the tank, that stuff will kill off that pest coral and he won’t have to worry about taking apart the tank and scrapping anything away. I have a few aggressive corals in my tank that want to take over everything, pop that aptasia x on there for about 30 mins with wave maker, power head, intake turned off. And enjoy the new real estate 😊 the aptasia X is reef safe floating around in the water column, it is only dangers if it sits directly on a coral for long periods
You should see my main tank, no filtration except for macros, no socks, skimmer, uv, ozone, nothing. Just two big refugiums growing red macros so fast i can't keep my nutrients up. Dosing all for reef and occasionally raising my nitrates chemically to achieve the 1-10 phosphate to nitrate ratio. Should also see the store that got me going full macro, located in Vero Beach just south of this videos subject
@@andras3527 I've got a few different ones I'm using, right now my favorite is a 100 watt viparspectra grow light about 1 foot above two fuges running at 25%(should be 1-1 watts to%) I'm also using a ai prime freshwater, but it's too much concentrated light not enough coverage I've also used cheap Chinese led lights and any light grows macro some just grow more than others ya know? If I turn the vipar up without increasing nutrients it can be problematic, especially if my tumbling stops
@@boj4klayman919 thx for that! I’ve just set up an 85 gallon with my old live rock (3+yrs) in it - fish & corals straight in too. even filter feeders (my old plum rocks with Xmas tree worms, etc). heavy feeding, using RS reefmat, no skimmer, cheato, + biological filtration. 3 wks down the line, going well so far.
@@andras3527 I moved a 5+year established tank 8 months ago, it wasn't mine before the move and it wasn't a smooth move, didn't lose any truly important livestock but lost some acros and a birdsnest he was running socks, a skimmer and a fuge, 6/7 days a week I don't run socks and I got rid of the skimmer for more fuge space. @@WorldWideCorals Not much. I usually love the vids. Some of Vics suggestions seemed outta place. The gentleman had a nice tank but the convo back and forth didn't feel fluid to me.
The type of brother you can smoke a joint. Watch your tank in all blues and have a chill night hanging out.
Another great tank tour! Thank you for not putting pop-up links to buy frags of corals shown in the video.
Of course! Its a small change we like as well
Kept me interested throughout . Francisco's a good sport . No powerhead is cool 😊 Like to see more like this. More no powerhead options too
We will find them!

Stability is key
I'm blown away that he has ZERO powerheads. This has to be one of the first tanks, I've seen this nice without powerheads. Mind blown.
And doing so well!

He did ask Vic for Tips on feeding and about the Veggie Clip for the tangs

Thank you for the support!
This guy was awesome. Good stuff!
Thank you!
Love the tank! Question, if the tank looks this good, why would you want to lower phosphates?
having them in a lower range gives you some play in case of a spike :)

What a stunner of a tank he’s got
Super clean set up

Great video
We also run our nutrients higher than most and the corals seem to react positively to it!
Amazing aquarium ❤.

Those are my favorite tanks, the OG high quality Red Sea before they started making the cheap seam popping reefer series!!!
Love this tank-
It is a super clean system
VIC, you do realize the Red Sea S-650 has 3 closed loop returns on back wall….thats where the flow is coming from
That’s not closed loops - just returns
Actually the Backgeoung Music makes us Hard to Listen the Conversation
Thank you for that feedback
Wow man!
🙏🙏
Other than the Yankee stuff( I am from Boston) it’s a beautiful tank
😂😂
Alkalinity 7.4
Wow
Question if it was reverse phosphate 0 nitrate 10, how would you lower nitrate?
I would do a water change.
Don't lower the nitrate, bring up the phosphate by dosing it. 10 Nitrate is fine.
@@WorldWideCorals In this case, what percentage and how often do you exchange water?
@@ARandomTrex I heard that phosphate administration is dangerous. How much do you administer phosphate in this case? My fish tank is 100 gellan
What kind of anthias are these?
BiMac Anthias
Come do my tank, it's still new but the SPS are growing.
Send the information to our email!
