Is it not required to apply black RTV on the gaskets? On the lower surface of the cylinders, near the holes for the head bolts, there is an oil passage in the center - channel (to the timing chain area). When the paper seal is placed it sinks a little into the channel. Is there a need to seal them with RTV? I saw someone on TH-cam who does this all the time. Were there no more oil leaks at the end of the process?
I have the same issue with my base gasket leaking. What was the charge to the customer to do the gasket replacement? That's a little bit out of my wheelhouse, so I'll most likely have to pay a shop to do it and it would be great to get an idea of how much it will cost. Thanks!
@@elchurro1984 No, I ended up buying a parts bike for $100 and using the engine from that one. That engine actually ran better than the one that was on my bike! I was then able to sell some other parts from the parts biked to get back my $100 and then some.
Exactly why my '81 is doing at 45,000 new gasket time! Great vid :)

I never use RTV sealant. Use the proper type of Hondabond as recommended by Honda.
How did you pull the chain back up through after you reinstalled the cylinder and head?
hook it up on a steelwire

Did you ever find out the cost for it?

How much would a repair like that cost
Depends who you know. However I recommend you follow other videos and try it yourself. It's not as hard as it looks.
