    Just got one of these from a relative along with the radio tuner(KT-7300), and cassette deck!

    Trio Darlington board. I found an old DC Kenwood reciever in the garbadge when I was a kid in the 90's. I have never had an amp of that quality again and I have Halfler and genelec. This technology was the combination of the economics of the day and advanced Trio communication chipsets.

    I have one of these and it is one of my absolute favorite amps! Sounds wonderful powering some Polk Monitor 7s. If you haven't heard this powering the vintage Polks you're missing something! Rumor has it that this unit has one of the best pre-amps Kenwood offered? Not sure on that. But a clean, warmish, musical sound you can listen to forever! Enjoy!

      Cool !! Its an excellent amp, and built exceptionally well. Has one of the best preamp sections Kenwood designed for that time.

    I just got one all restored with many capacitors replaced. I made a video using the preamp output into the line input of my video camera . This way you can hear what all the bells and whistles do to the sound .

    I started watching some of your videos today. And I see you're in NYC. I live in the Bronx and I would love to buy some of these vintage amps ect. I don't know much about stereo systems. But they take me back to my child hood years. I like the way they look. So if uts posible. Can you tell me where and how I can purchase a system like this so I can listen to music at home. I hate the way my sound bar sounds.

      Hi Edwin and thanks for checking out my channel. I purchased my gear over many, many years using ebay, Craigslist, AudioKarma, Audioclassics, and trade-ins at Hi-Fi stores locally. Just Google around and you'll find tons of vintage stereos for sale on the web. Facebook also has clubs that you can join where many members buy and sell. There is often a lot on local Craigslist in NYC and the surrounding areas. Its a lot of fun!! Good luck...and all the best!! Thanks!!

      @@gattigail thanks for the tips man. I appreciate your time and know how. I'm not looking to get into collecting ect. I just want a nice system to listen to music at home. But I want a powerful one since I like to listen to very loud music 😂. But I want the vintage look of a amp / receiver and good speakers as well.

    I have a Kenwood KA-7300 that I bought new around 1977. It now takes a few minutes to power up and one channel does not work. How big a repair would it be?

      @davdog6335 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Replace .relay .capacitors .diodes .transistors.resistors on power board .I did that and everything is good.I used only recommended values and elna .nichin.caps.and do proper clean all through

    I have had this amp since 1976 and love it! It is in great condition but I need to clean and possibly replace the Mode button. Can anyone tell me how to remove the Volume/Balance knob?

    • @gattigail
      @gattigail  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      There is a tiny allen set screw holding the knob to the shaft. Use a tiny metric allen set screw wrench. I think its 1.5mm.
