  • On the 229th anniversary of the signing of the U.S. Constitution, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will dedicate a temple just a few blocks away from Independence Hall in downtown Philadelphia. The city was founded by William Penn, who sought religious liberty, and the right to religious freedom was born in this city. The LDS Church has always had a strong belief in what is known as the first freedom listed in the Bill of Rights, and LDS leaders are concerned that religious freedom is under increasing pressure. In this documentary Elder Dallin H. Oaks, who has been a strong voice for religious freedom, will address why he believes this founding document is divinely inspired. Then Pope Francis speaks on the challenges religious freedom is facing around the world.

I am so excited to be traveling from SC to attend the Philadelphia temple today. This is our first stop and then a day of visiting historical sites tomorrow.

may I just point out, after watching the subtitles, that It's the Aaronic priesthood, not the ironic priesthood.
