      @@StripedSooner I beg to differ. All my life. 5th generation okie. I still live on and own the original dirt my family got in the land run. My wife has a doctorate from ou. We both have degrees at Stillwater and she is a professor there now since she hated even being on campus in Norman. Stuck up prudes and punks. There is more oklahoma in my blood than there is your county. Sooner? That's a joke as much as the reasons ou football fans have for liking ou football. Sure there are a few alums and good reasoning to like ou. Almost everyone I know just picked them a team.

    Riley became a big name in CFB because Bob Stoops hired him to be the OC, and then pegged him as his replacement when he retired. All of Riley’s meaningful success in coaching has been because of the opportunity he has had at OU, and how does he repay us? By leaving for USC.

    • @teeken8850
      @teeken8850 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Your so Right, because he was handed Bob Stoops Sooners already firing on all cylinders, already a well oiled machine ... all he had to do was steer the ship, He did not even do that really all that well...So he is off to a beautiful State yet an insane hell hole... where the insane outnumber the sane 2 to 1 ...pink cryly should fit right in. reap what you sow...

    Listening to WWLS the Sports Animal, Al Eschbach said that Lincoln told OU he didn’t want to coach in the SEC. Joe Castiglione and others worked really hard to come to an agreement with Lincoln, but could not. If someone is avoiding the challenge of coaching SEC, you don’t want him. NOW the season makes sense. How messy it was!

    The ultimate act of betrayal ! The players we will lose to transfer , not to mention the 22 and 23 recruits ! I do think he is losing his " Magic " . We are lucky we weren't 5 & 5 or 6 & 4 this year ! 2 5 star Quarterbacks , 5 star wide receivers , almost everyone back from last year . He did a Terrible job calling plays . Our only hope is for Bob Stoops to step in for next year and start finding a positive coach ! Bill Snyder had to come back for Kansas State in a time of crisis . Coach Stoops , WE NEED YOUR LOYALTY AND WISDOM TO HELP US MAINTAIN ! I am glad riley is gone . Riley looks you in the eye and tells you how much Oklahoma means to him and the Oklahoma Family . You don't stick a dagger in your families heart ! I bet he doesn't last long out in the desolate place called Los Angeles !

    • @jessiehephner2497
      @jessiehephner2497 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah the sad thing is though it may be easier to get into the playoffs from the pack 12 but he will still lose in the semi finals to a big 10 or sec champ like he did all those other years. But ou will find a better coach I'd rather see a national title every 5 years or so rather than an 11 or 10 win season every year and lose in the playoff or just barely miss the playoff every year

      This does a lot of damage to the program the biggest hit will be with recruiting most likely every new recruit will follow Riley to California thats a year waisted then the transfers will start talent WILL leave.
      This move puts us in rebuilding instead of being contenders....
      Oh and we won't just lose Riley a huge part of coaching staff will leave too......we were set up to go into the sec and play now we will go and lose

    Bro I know your pain but this could no will restore our defense if they hire well which they will. You see bro I never was sold on Alex Grinch speed D and if we took that defense into the SEC well in all honesty we'd get embarrassed. In my opinion I know that the powers that be will pick the right coach. I'm truly grateful that Lincoln left since he wants to use Alex Grinch. Love your channel Bro keep up the excellent work

  • @rodgerbane3825

    Here is my fear. Why would Riley do this? I can only think of two reasons. 1. He, Riley did NOT want to go to the SEC. And worse yet, 2. The Administration refused to put forth the capital to hire the support staff needed to compete in the SEC. This isn't quite as treasonous as going to LSU would have been, but to say the least this is a betrayal and a gut punch. I'm not sure who we should get next, Aranda, if possible. I trust Joe C as well but yeah, this really hurts badly. Oh, how about... Mike McDonald, DC at Meatchicken, Pro experience with the Ravens and a Georgia so he knows the SEC. Lyin' Riley.

    Lincoln Riley scared to go to the SEC, straight up.

  • @jbaidoo2000
    @jbaidoo2000 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    There may be things we don’t know about. 1. Are there internal politics in the program that we’re not aware of?
    2. Was his opinion seriously considered before joining the SEC or was he just told “ Hey Lincoln, we’re joining the SEC and glad you’re the HC of this team”?
    3. Was he denied funding for certain position coaches, amenities, etc to elevate OU to the next level?
    4. Did he present the new opportunity to the AD and asked him to match the offer only to be told no?
    We just never know but it still is not a good feeling as an OU fan. Bob Stoops can take this job and surround himself with some brilliant assistants. Just saying.
