I agree that these improvements have a considerable impact on the quality and usefulness of this library. Insanity Samples are one of the best developers in terms of revisiting and upgrading their libraries. Sometimes the update is free or, with a major improvement including new sampling sessions like this, there is a very reasonable upgrade. I have heard complaints about the first version of this library sounding too thin - a common issue with brass sampling; but I think it was solid for its price point. This new version is, I think, now punching above its price point.
The articulations and samples not aligning for me is everything I am looking for in this library. For Delta blues styles (like CW Stoneking) - this "looseness" is part of the appeal and makes it sound so much more organic. Excellent upgrade - pick it up while it's relatively cheap folks. If you already own version 1 it's a no-brainer...
I grew up in Louisiana. The sound of this library is boxy in Tone. Just not very realistic. The attacks are soft and kind of spongy. The flourishes are cool, but it doesn’t have much appeal beyond that for me. One day I might take the time to EQ and scope version one of this library to see if I can eventually get it to sound OK. However, I’m not sure that upgrading makes sense to me, with the tone being a big issue. I don’t hear anything in the demos, which sounds much better than version one.
Looks characterful and responsive. The two performance tabs for saving preferred articulations is nifty.
